Another interesting observation is that we actually currently have a total of 103% of people responding. If the devs can't code a simple calculation is it any wonder that they can't deliver what they promised? Is it any wonder they don't seem to be able to correct the rites? Might lend credence to the premise that great graphic artists do not make clever or competent games.

Oops, before making such a slanderous comment, one should definitely check their facts and figures :) Yep, it seems you took 103 voters to mean 100% - to get 100% you add up the percentage figures on the right. 103 is just a physical count of people that have voted.

Another slight booboo, is that Nevrax didn't develop the forum and voting software - it's open source, and it's called vBulletin.

Mind you, since you obviously spent 1.98 seconds reading the important bits, is it any wonder your post contains no value? :) (Sorry, you asked for that one...)

As a serious reply, I think you'll find Nevrax' developers are quite competent - there's no way they could have produced Nel and Ryzom otherwise. A little humbling of one's opinions on other people's skills... :)

Well thank you all for voting, we have over 100 votes in, which is a good enough size to repesent this community, I think.

It seems fairly clear we like to see more raids initially, so I have made a follow up thread called 'My ideal Raid event & ideas' where I have toyed with some old and some new ideas.

I am still confused about how there was originally a 'problem' with the Raid Engine but now Nevrax are planning to do some again. Are there problems with the Raid engine or not? I guess we shall see.

Thanks again.

Haha, I see you got to that one first. I had some things to say about it, but you said them all.

One thing to realize about this poll is that it's taking 2 things people have experienced and one thing that a good portion of this games community has not (PvP). No, getting ganked in PR is not PvP. Dueling is PvP, but not in its truest form. The arena is probably the closest that this game gets to having PvP in it. Don't know how many have tried it team vs. team.

When the Dev Team finally releases PvP I think it will bring some excitement to the high level game. Even if they don't go completely open PvP, outpost raids will really be a test of a players skills. Not only the magic spells and fighting 'abilities' they've gotten through the levels, but also teamwork/cooperation/communication and dynamic thinking. There is no hate to manage, no tank to draw mobs attention, it's more of an unpredictable fight with many possible scenarios. In the case with fighting any mob, no matter how many/tough they are, you follow a certain routine to fight. Versus human opponents you have to adapt to the fight as it goes and use skills that you might have otherwise thought useless in order to emerge victorious.

That said, some just don't like PvP and that's fine. Could be because never experienced or had bad experience, but some will just never like it. Hopefully when it goes live in this game, it'll be exciting, clean and meaningful. Might sway those who are on th fence with this one. Harming another Homin can be fun!

Small doses, and with a goal. Killing and dieing, over and over and over, just for the hell of it isn't that great. Now, getting full DP trying to get from Zorai to Tryker, that's fun! And an event, where it is basicaly massive PvP, but with a fiew rules and a prize, that is fun! And yah, stuff like the event that my guild did, at the arena... You have no idea how busy our Ventrilo(an internet speaking program) was, and that was just one team. So yah, attacking something with a great AI (human intelegence and planning) is lots of fun. Just not out of the blue, when your back is turned, and you have no warning ahead of time.

PS :P lease note that saying 'Better watch your back' does count as a warning, but just walking up and uber-nukeing is not.

voted for rites..

not social enough for Outposts
not anti-social enough for PvP

Im interested in how Outposts will turn out, and will see how far I can get with them, but dont have great expectations. PvP is too level dependant to be much fun -as far as I'm concerned- .. either kill an opponent with 2 hits, or dont have enough sap to take them down, while they sit there and cheer you on :p

have spent ~weeks building up fame to do racial missions, and commited suicide attacks on bandit camps to complete prerequisites, not to mention searching regions for elusive high level mobs for 'bring-it-back-in-pieces' missions :D
