WOEY titles' redone ! yummm =D

True. The Ryzom's neologism for many lvl201 titles aren't as impressive as the grind to reach it was. Of course any can discover it with the "info" option when you right-click on a character, but it will get time for people to recognize a "slathist" as "a guy who can slice almost anything that lives"....

Completely agreed, at least at this stage of the known Lore.
Check this :
keeping "Slathist" as example, that would mean the official race allowed to wield huge swords are the matis. All others race just have spied/reproduced/learned matisian skills.
This could be one reason of the title, but then, antimatis people wearing that title will be considered as betrayers and killed-on-sight ! (pure RP speaking)
Now about a suggestion/feedback to improve that
:
As a whole, don't try to do the same title for the 3 languages! vocabulary, spelling and grammar are
from little to
way far different, and so you'll have an hard time to find a nice, useful and easy translated, plus accurate
word once, for all.
Melee Warrior and Range Fighter sounds strange in french translation, but are very, very accurate in english and shouldn't be changed.
About the ryzom's neologism, they have a very great RolePlay potential, but they mustn't be mandatory since lots of players use title as a "fear-me" tool
i suggest you to keep them, but made those for
each and every weapons, and available through a quest/rite !
I'm 201 using 2handed sword, but i dont want to be the #1428 heavy swordsman, i want to be known as the matis slathist of <include guild name here>! => Also, that's allow way more character-customization !!!!
Very good idea to change the "easy"
Master addendum for each and every melee weapon specialisation. As for magic who "prettify" the masterful idea (
avatar of destruction,
celestial guardian...), let's do the same for
all 250ish melee skills... (don't abuse of the "master" adj).
200ish are the martial specialisation title, 250ish are the eloquence, rhetoric explanation of the skill.
To finish, ""suggested new title"
- ranged :
keep the old titles up to 101
change the 151 ones :
Advanced Heavy Gunman -> Heavy Gun specialist / Heavy Gunfighter
Advanced Gunman -> Handgun specialist / Gunfighter
keep the old 201, but :
(n/a) -> Machinegunner (autolauncher)
keep the great new 250, but :
Master Pistoleer -> Headshooter
Master Artilleryman -> Annihilator / Land Wrecker
(n/a) -> Army Shreder (autolauncher)
- melee :
keep the old 101 (wielding specialization)
keep the old 151 (damage specialization)
keep the old 201 (weapon specialization)
keep the new 250 (emphasis)
but :
Master Maceman -> Headcrusher
Master Pikeman -> Foe Spiker
Master Axeman -> Armslicer
Master Heavy-Maceman -> Life Crusher
