I think every alter in the game now has the "buy" option, but no new TPs are available. It was added for the DP removal pacts.clemond1 wrote: I did notice on my last run from MG to HS that the Karavan altar had the "buy" option now available but no tickets for sale. Anyone check them today?

Checked and yes, you can buy the dp tickets from them only.. not the tp pacts

*nods* Ah, gotcha then. I know in SM, Barkers are at the side of the border (well along the cliff), so I assume they won't be in the pvp area either.
Re: [DEV] PvP - Faction Assignment
There are some PvE consequences about Faction PvP in Knoll of Dissent and Sawdust Mines. You can team with a character in opposite faction but that won't provide very effective team as you can't heal your teammate.
This makes trekking harder for multi faction parties as both faction PvP areas are in popular route between Matis and Fyros. Also, Knoll of Dissent is very popular lower lvl PvE area, this is now impossible for multi faction teams.

The PvP zone in Sawdust Mines is quite small - only between the two (working) TPs. This means that the Barker Camp is in the PvP zone (I found it amusing to be a person on the kami side of the faction pvp while being saved by the (karavan aligned) guardsambika wrote:*nods* Ah, gotcha then. Seriously?! *doesn't havge those TPs* Jeesh, I should have gotten them before. xD
Re: [DEV] PvP - Faction Assignment
ran into problems in KoD yesterday.. answered a call for a res, checked the player was of compatible faction before i went.. dodged/sneaked the aggro to get there with 40 seconds on the clock.. and couldnt heal !! I'm guessing the problem was caused by the victim being in the same team as a deluded, kami worshipping Fyros, but i was unable to confirm any of this.
another drawback with KoD, already mentioned, is the distance from any working TPs. makes it hard to get people there, and forces everyone to res at the same place (abyss portal). even if the karavan tp was working, it would still bring people back to the portal.

Re: [DEV] PvP - Faction Assignment
Aya but on the other hand new players that may be low of the dapper dont have sit it out while others tele about because we all end up same place.
Even tho i know most players would be happy to give some one a few dap for tickets as we do on trecks and such, but it saves on the old "D'oh forgot to buy a ticker" and then having to split up n walk them back .

About "Neutrality". I'm dont remember source exactly, but once devs said something like "..neurtal players are'nt important in story/world evolution..." (sound a little extreme, but i can understand this point)
There 2 sides in war (cold war?), and they will incorporate only after 3 years against enemy (kitins?), so how you can be neutral and play role in story/planet evolving when 'planet' ts 'virtually divided' to 2 parts?
I understand, this is "disputable point", but in this case, i completely agree with current idea - "auto faction assignment"
Now, I understand what you're saying. It all seems logical. But a black and white world without the shades of grey in between would be a very boring world indeed. Of course neutral players can have an impact on the story! Discover information, kill a Kitin, solve a riddle, stop a battle. All the same things a sided player can do, really. Including choosing a side if he so wishes.
As for the automatic faction assignment? Well, if I have to work really hard and make sure that my faction for both Karavan and Kami are the same, just to make sure I stay neutral, you're looking at an individual willing to do this.
p.s. A dev making a comment like that would have recieved an extreme amount of flaming from me. Because if we want to have more impact than a "left or right", "yes or no", "true or false" set of questions, we need the homins who are willing to choose no side at all and look at the facts objectively, rather than subjectively.
