Edit: &, by your rules, the winning bid was 15.1M, posted 19:59 BST.
i'm sorry keoni to have to state this but the way this goes gives me a lot of grief...

think delphi is suggesting the best possible solution tbh and she has my support on the way she does it.

we aint advocates for the love of god so dont twitch the rules like that

I'm not "twitching" any rules. In point of fact, I'm the only one that seems intent on following them. "Sniping" is a basic tactic of online auctions, it has been discussed on this forum, and if Delphi had wanted to preclude such a possibility she could have. She did not.

To me, it's a point of honor. It would be in my best interest to accept this "rules revision" and either outbid Kye, or at least force him to pay fair market value for the services of a 250q digger for that length of time. But I won't be a party to it, and thereby give my tacit approval to this.

Delphi: if you decide to stick with these retroactively-revised auction rules, then I feel I am within my rights to retroactively drop all my bids from this auction. That would result in Kye winning your services for 13.5M.

I know technically you won, Keoni, but seeing that you were both there waiting to snipe at the last second turned my stomach. Yes, maybe I should have seen this coming and put a measure in there to help prevent such an occurrence. And yet I didn't and you exploited it, leaving me with a moral dilemma I could really have done without and I resent the both of you for doing this to me and turning what was intended as a bit of fun into a stress-filled mess :(

I stand by my decision. I can't take it back. And I hope that we can all take something away from this sorry little episode.

My bid of 17million stands, your worth it :)

Sooooooooo... you can take back your original rules... but you can't take back the ones you revised after the end of the auction, which (as you have just confirmed), I won?

That's... interesting.

p.s. If I were really attempting to "low-ball" snipe, I would have bid 13.6M. I did not. I made a generous increment to the prior bidder. And yet that "turns your stomach"?

Can you not see delphi was trying to find the best solution?
Please give her a break, i thought what you did was mean, but dont be harsh to her, she is doing what is best.
If you wanted to win the acution so badly you would of bid like everyone else, well in the time limit to give to people time to bid against you.
just my view.

Oh give me a break, Kye. You're the one that turned it into a stress-fest by your sour-grapes post, and you were right there ready to snipe the auction also. You're all "can't we all just get along" only now that the rules have been changed to favor you.

If you're really interested in a fair solution, Delphi, reopening the bidding after the fact isn't it. What *would* be fair, would be to award identical services to both myself (with the last valid bid of 15.1M), and the runner-up (Kye, 13.5M). I'd be happy to wait until next weekend if you only have that amount of time to put in on Sats & Suns - or, for that matter, any composite total of 6+ hours of your time.
