Also interesting that the crossdressing seems to bring the male/female ratio amongst the characters to almost exactly 50/50.

I'm a guy playing a girl myself. Still in the experimental stage mostly; in previous games I've always played male characters, but after hearing a female friend was playing a male character, I decided to try a female character for Ryzom.

LOL. Interesting results on the poll so far Grim.

I'd say that I figured there were a lot of guys playing female toons, but I didn't figure there were as many as that. I wonder if my female toon friends in game actually have as much testosterone running thru their veins as I do lol.

I'm just your average joe playing a guy in game. I thought about branching out and playing a chick, but in the end, I came to the decision to play a smelly ole Fyros male.

OUt of pure curiousity, and wanting to play with other females, I ALWAYS ask. I always assume they're guys, and usually I can tell. But I always ask cause I wanna know :D

You can usually pick the guys playing girls within the first couple of teams with them.

Tis also funny when you start chattin' up a girl avatar a bit and they either want to duel you outta the blue or just come out and say things like "i'm not really a girl". I just say "yes you are, ya got all the right bits"! :) Some seem confused that you treat them like females and not males.

Vast tracts of land --> very much so. Strange thing is i've heard a few guys playing girls comment that if they could they would have less land.

Guy playing guy BTW. Couldn't get into playing a female toon. Didn't feel I could do the role justice.

Hey, I'm a girl playing.. a girl. Yeah, I have more land than most.

I will say that it was accidental in OB - I didn't realize I could turn my view to the side during creation, and even cranked all the way up, from the front view, didn't look like much was changed.. :o But after 8 million comments of "Good god woman! Can you see your feet?? I can see those from across town!" I got used to it, an so for release, it was intentional. :p

Girl in Girl & Guy in Guy :D

Actually, I've had an alternate guy, but he got deleted as we played around with different alts. He'll be coming back one day tho, when hubby's toon takes a walk. :p However, I'm not sure I can hide my personality well enough for the long term to carry off a guy. Being true to myself means playing ...

From past experiences I can tell its not too hard to play a female. Its more about not telling what you are then trying to convince other what you want to be. I played the female role for 6 month once and only stopped it when my "fiancee" confessed his love to me.

Since then I prefer to not really play out the role since it can leave some very hurt feelings behind.

Guy playing guy here. I never ask about RL gender as I am not really that interested in knowing it.

I would say that it is quite hard to guess RL gender as there are RL girls with aspects of "typical masculine behaviour" aspects and RL guys with aspects of "typical feminine behaviour".

Also, most feminine girl chars are probably RL guys overplaying their char.

Maxed boobs tells about guy playing girl for sure :)

Results that surprise me are that there are more RL girls than I would have thought and it is interesting see that it is rare for a girl to make a guy char.

Actually, there are so many RL girls out there that maybe, just maybe I should be more interested about RL gender ;)

*Cough* I'm one of the three "girl who plays a guy." The surprise reactions from guildies when I decided to log onto the TS was priceless :D I think people don't realise simply because we are rare... on the other hand guys the play girls are common so it's second nature to observe the behaviour of female toons and decide what gender they really are based on that.

Basically I started playing a fyros male after a failed begin with a zorai female. Aside from messing up some sp choices and being really lonely in the jungle, zorai light armor + harvesting meant that I was continously treated to a view of her (lower) backside. I'd rather have broad shoulders to look at ;)

I played a male as well in a previous MMO, but that was due to my female char regularly getting propositioned to. I found the difference between the treatment my male and female toons a bit disturbing... the female was offered teaming, help, items, marriage, other less pleasant things... the guy was left well enough alone... which suited me just fine. Of course, since the average Ryzom player is more mature I'm happily guessing that one gender doesn't get preferential treatment over another on Atys.

I'm a guy who plays a guy. I thought about making a female character because in a 3rd person game where you spend most of the time viewing your own character's behind, I would prefer to see a female behind. =P

I think playing a guy makes everything simpler for everyone though.
