Grapeling hook: used to get to higher places, bring mobs to you if your a close combate fighter, slam them into walls or up root plants.
-Spear gun which could be fired from the water.

Gauntlets or maces that cause earth quakes or that send a blast of magic underground to the enemy and when the blast reaches them turns in spikes that impale from below or just explode under them.
-Golves with other elemental effects that would use sap crystals or stam.
*fire golves that would set mobs on fire
*ice gloves that would frezze them in place
*wind that can pick up light to med weight mobs and throw them or keep them from attacking. also the wind golves could levitate you and your friends across canyons. You could also throw objects like rocks or other mobs at your target.
*plant golves that can use the root spell or work like the grappeling hook.
*water gloves that could soke the ground making it muddy or slippery so it harder to move in. can be combinne with Lighting spell or gloves to make eletrical attacks more powerful when target is wet.
*lighting gloves cast lighting spell or inflict eletrical damage when your hit and like when some touches an electirc fence.

A hovering orb that has high tension wires connected to weight that spin around it and when something gets too close it is cut in half. This should be thrown at the target so it doesn't hit you.

A spider bot that can climb on mobs and drill into them.

A kind of ammo that when it enters the mob's body either expole, has spikes pop of it or heats up and burns the mobs from within and distarcts the mob.



ok, I might have gone a liitle crazy, but there are some good ideas here

Give the Devs new ideas for weapons
IMO before new weapons implementation, lets finish (or start, in some cases) work on currently existing weapons (Difference between Sword and Axe, except look, and etc etc like completely useless or unbalanced (ranged, cc and some other, useful only for sp/lvls...), fix not working stats, allow crafters to more customise existing weaps not only LQ/MQ/HQ...

I agree that this is best used as a "for future reference after they get what they're working on now done" topic... that said, however, I'd love to see:

Whips. For style points, these would look particularly good on female avatars wearing Fyros medium armor. I would envision these as a relatively low damage defensive piercing weapon, with interesting critical effects to set them apart. A critical strike on a mob would cause fear (you just set off a sonic boom near whatever they use for ears). For humanoids, a critical strike on a hand should result in a disarm of whatever was equipped there. A critical strike to the head should result in a stun. A critical strike on the legs/feet should cause the opponent to trip (which you might simulate by a forced "sit") to simulate wrapping the legs and giving a quick pull. If you did the animations and the audio for this well, it would be another interesting twist to catch people's imaginations when they're considering which MMORPG to play.

While I'm 100% for the addition of additional weapons / armor / novelty teeth / outposts (cough cough) ... I'm hard pressed to agree with whips stunning me if I get hit in the head... espescially as getting hit in the head with a gigantic axe / sword / hammer do not necessarially do the same.

This is not to argue your point, whips would be cool. Just a "god damn this isn't an easy to do" kinda post.

The cracking from a bullwhip comes when the tip breaks the speed of sound. The whip can also strike a very small surface area of the target.

If someone could wield a whip with enough precision and control, it would be far more damaging than swords and axes, it could be damaging like a bullet at point-blank range. Those swords and axes are pretty inefficient anyhow. The idea is to have weapons with a lot of mass, but those can be hard to accelerate and the speed is much more of a factor - with proper technique a fist can deliver a blow to rival a sledgehammer.

More effective whips could be steel tipped IRL. In ryzom that would be claws or thorns.
