Although I partly agree Frydes, it's possible to generalise too much Extremism, be it the original act or some extreme reaction to an act, can be fuelled by several sources. Extremism can be belief, passion, misunderstanding, lack of compassion, or blatant stupidity. Categorising the extremism is difficult, as is reacting to it.

Blacky: I hope you get your situations sorted mate. It sounds like you're having a bad time at the moment, and I certainly know how that feels. My life has been 75% mess for the past 3 years or so - however, it's finally starting to come good again, and I have a little peace. I hope you find the same soon.

If you don't understand or know the level of relationship between two people, how can branding them naive be anything but a sign of naivity? If you don't know a person's current situation life, events that have affected them in one way or another, how can you call a simple expression of emotion and caring naive?

My current outlook on life matches a certain poster here - I'm a cynic, and I hate people However, I don't take pot shots at people who are obviously and genuinely upset about something. I take the view that if someone chooses to be useless, then they are useless. I also take the view that if someone chooses to be openly ignorant and arrogant, and treat others with disrepect, that person will receive nothing more than the same from me. It's a cold view generally, but that's me. What I don't do is shoot people down when they are already upset - to do that is to achieve nothing but more bad feeling.

You also missed the point of this thread slightly - people are genuinely concerned about a player in real life. This player usually keeps in touch, and 4 weeks is a long time to be away without contact It is possible for players of a game to have genuine feelings for each other, even if your view on life tells you otherwise. These feelings may be of friendship, and they may be stronger. That's not for us to decide. It's also not for us to question or mock, since again it achieves nothing.

Bah I'm ranting. Here's hoping Meena is back soon...

I was chatting to Ali last night about this. It's a real shame when people disappear without warning. He was also a bit worried about Lienchang not having been around but I think I caught a glimpse of her earlier on today so at least he can be happy about one thing! I haven't met Meena properly but if she comes back, I hope to, as she must be nice to elicit such emotion from Ali.
