after some information gathering on the german boards we have come to the conclusion that greyed out missions mean that level or fame requirements are not met(this can even mean you have to get 48+ tryker fame sometimes <_<)
if no choice at all is given, then the rites aren't active as per : http://www.ryzom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11155

If the rite concerns crafting and you have no experience in crafting, then it will appear greyed out to you.

falls under level limitations imho

So where are all the existing "grayed out" rites at the moment? Meaning the working one. Especially in Fyros. I can't seem to find any except the intro to the cubes via the Chest of Wisdom rite from the barman in Pyr, and the other working one that I'd completed from the SuperIntendent in Pyr in that big house in the back and upstair, rite L'Art de Homins - Melee Weapons.

rites that i know of:
4 x beginners rite in newbie land
4 x intro rite from barman
1 x intendant rite in fyros
1 x barman rite in zorai (thanks ackir)
2 x intendant rite in zorai
2 x intendant rite in tryker
2 x ??? rite in matis

1 x barman rite in zorai (not the Amber Cube one - I hope that's what you meant by 'intro')
