First off, it was english, im sure even YOU can read it, or get your cat to read it.mrshad wrote:But the way expanded PVP was sometimes (certainly not all the time) presented was as a necessary evil in order to save the game.
Since then, accounts were lost, people were fired, and SoR is being sold. Was pursuing PVP the wrong choice? I think one can make the argument that it was. Would more non-pvp content have saved Nevrax? Well, there is no real way of knowing.
To "LT"
Those are English words but...
Maybe...just maybe...instead of using the random word generator you have tied to the "Submit Reply" button; you could provide a sentence or two of actual context?
Just a though.
Go on being UB34, U 7337 D00D U.
And if you wanna complain about MY english, what the hell do you mean with:
Just a though?
Meant THOUGHT did you?
And about the part i quoted above:
PvP ruined the game? and more PVE instead of PvP would have saved it?
Hardly think so.

thats my point in a way, no-body comes on shouting "god RP is such a load of crap etc etc I'm leaving", they just say their goodbyes and goraven41 wrote: ... tho I know some that left from boredom(Of RP)

Be honest now, it wasn't boredom of RP. It was boredom of the game in general, wasn't it?
Boredom of a game that incluided PVP.
Players leaving a game due to boredom is going to happen in any game.
Players being driven off because a game is rapidly changing into something the player-base doesn't want is a different matter entirely.
Hindsight, of course, is always 20/20; but many of us saw this comming. We knew PVP would be bad for the community, we tried to warn Nevrax. Nevrax though "WoW has PvP, and it is doing great, we should be like WoW!" Never thinking that the people who want a game like WoW are ALREADY THERE!
I think (but can not prove) that Non-PVP content would have kept players from being bored and leaving. It would have also avoided the mass migraitons that came from EP2. That might have been enough to save Nevrax...but then maybe not. I can say the community would not be nearly as divided as it is now, and the game would be a lot less atrractive to the likes of litt....er...I mean Uber Idiots than it is now.

Don't worry, I do alreadyaardnebb wrote:Say what you will about all of the RP content introduced (erm, that would be the Ring? which also is used for other stuff
You are of course forgetting the fact that the Ring took up capital in the form of new hardware, drove them to redesign the entire server architecture, took up loads of dev time because lots of things had to be done from scratch, etc etc to try and cater to a minority of players. Whereas the "PvP content" took up no new hardware, worked on the original arcitecture, only had to have itself coded instead of all the extra stuff required to make it work and can be (and is) used by almost everyone (unfortunately in some cases)

lol!
On a side note, PvP does tend to bring out the worse in people... And when people start bragging/gloating after winning... It usually desends into flames... And I don't see that happen with RP
