Vanguard... massive dissapointment. Way too underpopulated and not solo friendly.

Tabula Rasa, fun in small doses. But no depth. Community resembles WOW...

Nothing quite draws me in the same way anymore, Ryzom needs to come back.

Where it comes to MMORPG's, I have been trying them all and also beta testing (bored you think ?) I played (and still active) in Tabula Rasa, account with FURY (full PVP no mobs etc), Rappelz and most of the games from that games site...... mmmmm..... I did the 10 day trial of WoW (its ok..very colourful), lets seeeeee how bored can one get ?? welllll lets say at the moment, I have approx 30 odd online (free to play) games loaded ( wondering why I don't lvl fast ) waiting for RYZOM to restart.
Truthfully, nothing compares with it so far, it has all the stuff you wish, PVP if you want, single questing or team questing (which most don't have btw) and yet with all that, the lag ingame isn't so bad actually compared to some.

Atys lives while we still remember, never forget and keep the dream alive, pass the dream to the next generation and wait for the return.
RYZOM ..... may it never be forgotten.

my second account is on training for exhumers so that will take some time before i can fly a hulk

Despite the lack of content advancement, nothing is comparable to Atys.

The atmosphere, the community, the environment, the animals (not mobs, animals). Even not being an RPer, the role playing was almost natural there. I never felt ooc in Atys, even speaking of real life and, despite Gilgameesh lives in many different virtual worlds i always think of him as a little tryker.

As most of you, i downloaded and trialed a lot of other mmos and actually i stopped in Telon (Vanguard).
Altough there is a lot of bad writing on it, i found it the only one that can satisfy me a bit. Even if it's quest based for the most important stuff, i'm playing it with a sandbox style, i don't care to be the uber, i just want a virtual world to stay in, and Vanguard is a single instanced huge world with some feature that would have been very cool to have in Atys, such as crafting houses and ships.

Tho, some other feature is not so good as mounts are not permanent pets but just summoned. There is some mobs interacting each other but very few and absolutely not comparable to the living planet. The harvesting is dumb as usual, but, you know, harvesting in Atys was really so unique and challenging. Crafting is good, complex but not much well explained, expecially for non-english natives. I got hard time to figure out the real names of the correct recipe components. But, at least, is not just a button click after the gatherings, but need a well done process.

Of course the population is low, but it's not a problem for me, in Atys was low too and I fully enjoyed my time there, even during the last year, with no content updates. I agree that VG is not solo friendly (but i leveled my blood mage up to 24 doing teams only 2 times) expecially if you choose the ffa server, where the community is not so friendly, but i found an italian guild (non pk as me) that is there since beta, so it's not so hard.
The only real problem is that you need to tweak the config file a bit to fully enjoy the graphic (that, imho, is less polished than lotro, but absolutely more immersive) and need a good pc with very good fans(vents?) as the video card can easy go overheated.
