I think it wasnt just numbers that did it this time, I saw the kami were disorganised and making some rather large mistakes. There were at times opportunities for you to press the attack but you let them pass. I also noticed a few of the kami "big hitters" were missing from the fights which was letting you down a bit.

correct me if I'm wrong but the whole lore that came with it was "your faction wants you to conquer the op's etc" then left the rest of that branch to become a player driven story (as you often ask for)

it introduced a political climate that trancended the factions and created alliances that would not normally have come to pass within the lore. Each and every guild was left to carve their path and some decided to stand together to fight as one. In reaction to the alliance the opposition formed their own alliance to fight this.

As Jack said, you managed to take back Malmont and before that defended many previous outpost attacks perfectly fine...

Its only _very_ recently you've lost any and as shown by yesterdays Kami numbers a good showing is posible.
