The funny part is the online games you mentioned, you forgot:
SWG, WoW, Roma-Victor and Guildwars. combined, far bigger then all of the ones you mentioned. A carebear isnt a person who hates pvp, a carebear is a whiner, simple as that.

And, if wasnt a really offensive comment imho.

It is an offensive comment and no, it doesn't mean whiner. It's anyone, it seems, who doesn't like full-on, 24hour, full loot PvP.

Well SWG is so easy to forget these days with the NGE

WoW and Roma Victor aren't to my tastes so I've never played or browsed their forums so no idea what their forums are like but nice try disming the MMOs I listed but oops FFXI is double the size of SWG and Roma Victor combined.

If you read it youll find a long appology to those that got offended by my carebear comment, and that dont fall under my definition of carebear. So i do that too...

And it was a joke, and i dont define carebear hte way that it has been defined by some in this thread, and it wasnt a offensive comment at all. Those all match eatch other.

Carebears are people who whine about pvp, no matter the form.
Griefers are the people who want to force pvp on everyone and are poor sports when in pvp.

Carebears and griefers are the troublemakers on both sides of the issue who keep fanning the flames.

Lets try to keep this civil. There has to be a middle ground.

Definition of carebear, found in dictionary:

1. A player who detests Player versus Player (PvP) gaming and whines about how it ruins their gaming enjoyment.

2. A player who is killed or has a loss through theft and then complains about player harassment.

3. A player who focuses their gameplay strictly on crafting or other non-competitve activity.

4. A player who is afraid of getting ganked by other gaming players.

5. Players more concerned with "coloring" their houses, clothing, names, etc... than with playing against other people in a competitve gaming environment.

6. A player who ruined the PvP MMORPG industry by complaining so much that PvP MMORPG development is rare.



Now, what it basicly says is:
a person who whines about pvp, no matter the form of it.

Now, not many on this game falls under those definitions. Therefor there is no reason to be offended. Hope this clears everything up.
