Come one, let's not get into this pointless debate :) I too am a software developer, but I *never* *ever* developed an MMO game. I have developed quick programs that were never touched again, and I have developed (and am currently developing) a business system that has evolved over 10 years.

The fact is, bugs like this slip through. We have a bug that occurs almost every week here, it's been happening for months, but we haven't fixed it yet. This is due to time and manpower constraints, so we live with it.

I have no doubt that some of problems encountered are related to application of the patch (server side) rather than actual problems with the patched code. This can't always be predicted or seen before a patch goes live - yes, people will shout "yes it can I've done it... etc...". Well, it doesn't always go well, and that's a fact too.

Yet another fact - very few people here *truly* understands how an MMO works, and how the server and client patches are applied. It isn't for any of us (me included) to say "that isn't true, it wouldn't happen", or "I can't see any reason for these patch problems". In fact the second one is very apt - we can't see any reason for these patch problems, because we don't understand what's involved. So let's not bother judging on that merit eh? Yes, things have been nerfed by accident. Yes, things have been broken. Can't we just look forward to Nevrax sorting these with a mini-patch, like they have done before?

Doesn't affect gameplay. At all.

"Mat quality indicators messed up (you think you're buying one quality, turns out different when it hits your inventory) ."

Use your QL filter in the shop. This was, apparently partially fixed during one of the reboots.

"Hair styles changed at random."

And a way to change them back, and they're supposed to be restored with a mini patch, today apparently.

"They're just the few things I found in the brief time I played before I logged off in frustration. I didn't see one USEFUL improvement. Or at least ones that worked (such as the hands in the inventory - nice idea, shame they don't WORK!)."

Nothing there should cause any frustration.
Nothing there stops you playing.
I had a pretty good night playing levelling my ranged weapons, looking around town at the changes and raising my fame.

Some people just aren't happy without something to whinge about I think.

I'm not saying bugs shouldn't slip through, no software can ever be said to be 100% bug free, it's the nature of the beast. :)

What I am not happy with is the release of bugs they KNOW about. That's not good.

guys you go on like there is no bug other than the target window lol go try foraging in pr then tell me there is no bugs some people must be blind or stupid if they cant see whats wrong with pr foraging

put your armour on and watch your dodge stat in your char window it doesnt move..... put your weapon on and your parry mod moves so people who use parry are favour over us who chose to use dodge?

2 slots in the inv window added to equip your hands dont work..... heairstylists busted all over the place....

there is so many things that were said to be added and dont work its going to take a good few patches to fix it all same as patch 1 did..... we have a test server this stuff should all be sorted long b4 it reaches the live server or they are just wasting out subscription money running a test server that they dont even use properly i say people should post when they quit then the new players can see what a mess there walking in to......

a note from PC Zones review of ryzom...... "its a train crash waiting to happen"

Never said it did, it's just annoying and is an example of a bug they knew about BEFORE release.

"apparently partially" sounds a bit vague to me mate! I don't trust that I am buying what I think I am buying. The info window shows the q as 0!

Yeah so they're going to reset everyone's hair again? What about the money people have spent on new hairstyles? I hope we're gong to get that back too!

Not being sure what quality you are buying and losing money is VERY frustrating actually. Particularly when you are trying to craft and can't get the mats!

Actually I'm normally one of the ones defending the game and Nevrax so get your facts right. I am simply very angry and disappointed by a patch I was looking forward to.

PR foraging is it now that you need PR foraging of the QL level you want to dig out??

Or is it that you cant dig out of QL150 spots if you only have L100 PR Harvest??

heh philu in a way you know im glad this has happed to you? you can see my side of things now :) i complained i didnt like the downtime and the mess up of the last patch but people defended it yourself being one of them..... its vry annoying isnt it? i was myself looking forward to some of the new stuff added but it seems it just doesnt work as it all should...

I left Newbie Islands with 70k!! and that was before I even started Harvest skill..

And in the notes i read they are giving everyone affected a single free haircut

you have to be within 50Q of the resource you want to dig...

100q spots need 50q atleast
150q spots need 100q atleast
200q spots need 150q atleast
250q spots need 200q atleast

the only town that has direct acess to 100q spots is matis... abyss of ichor why should tryker/fyros/zora people have to travel round to world just get get access to lvling there pr skills?

Yes I did defend the last patch when they fixed it. This time I'm defending nothing!
