Pudding is way better. Easy to wash off.
Pie has crumbs. Crumbs are awful. They don't like to stay on the plate, they get stuck between the keys... And the insides of the pie are worse than the pudding!
Pudding is a simpler affair. You just spoon it up. It sticks together, so you don't have to worry about pieces falling off. And as Lyrah pointed out, it's much more portable.

On a recent trip to England I found the line separating pudding and pie to be horribly blurred. The English seem to use the word "pudding" for almost any sweet desert. Most are spongy mushy cakes with some type of sauce on them. They are all very tasty. But they also have a breakfast dish called "blood pudding". This is a fried mix of congealed blood and blobs of fat. This was also tasty so long as the fat blobs were small. I think this entire thread should be cross posted to the European English server so the Englishmen can clarify the pvp issue for us.

Bleeeeeeeeehh
The original name for 'blood pudding' is actually Black Pudding - which handily hides it's nasty list of ingredients
My grandparents were rather fond of it, but I have to admit the sight of the stuff puts me off eating!
My tip - if you come to England, and 'blood fat and gristle' doesn't sound appetising, stay away from 'Black Pudding'
And yes - a lot of Brits class anything that follows a meal as pudding. It's a typical Britishism (hmm
) - they would all understand (and even use) the term Desert Spoon, and still not call pudding desert
We are, and always have been, a nation of slightly insane people
Oh, I'm afraid I cannot clarify the PvP issue! *spam*
