Shadowbane (Aound for years?) DAOC and AO are all poor comparisons.
Try PvP per Everquest style. That is what would likely develop here. All the Zek servers, with the exception of Sullon Zek, are pretty civalized actually. The kind of ganking/griefing you envision appeals to a population type that doesn't seem to go fo SoR from what I have seen so far.
PvP in a guild vs format at least is considered an integral part of RP for a many RP guilds, my own included. Not for PvP's sake in itself, but as a tool to advance polictical and social agendas among different factions.
The only misgivings I have about it , is it will be so overly restricted as to become a lame duck element, while being hawked publicly as a method to increase subscriber base. Then bad things could really happen. Above all else the best thing to happen to this game is it got poor reviews from the Power Gamer mags in the community.
Anyways I look forward to it, with hopes it can be used as a proper tool for furthering roleplay in spite of the nay sayers.
