Re: WARNING TO ANYONE THINKING OF TRYING RYZOM

Someone asked "Where are the missions?", then preceded to say that there were none and dissed the game.
Um, where the heck were you? It's one thing to say ..."Where are the quests?" that you could argue, but even in noobland, where I have been, there are tons and tons of missions.
Examples follow so that you can reproduce the truth yourself:
1)Corporals: Kill animal task, locate animal task, and other tasks.
2)Overseers: Craft item task, and other tasks.
3)Local Suppliers: Transport stuff task, and other tasks.
Oh and on the Mainland, when you leave Noobland, there are a greater variety of missions, including Guild Only Outpost Takeover missions, and there are always factional missions you can take to gain fame with either a primitive tribe, certain NPCs , your home race, or the Kami/Karavan. So please don't give me the "Where are the Missions?" comment.
Again, if you mean deep and storied Quests that provide Uber loot .. nope not yet in game (it's planned for major "Patch 2" to begin to push some of those to the game though, and that's a known plan (its rudimentary beginnings are on the Test Server as we speak). (Edit: by the way, dropped Uber loot is not the "way" of this game. So don't expect it. Nevrax has allowed themselves breathing room on it, but it's unlikely and against the main focus of this game ... player-made loot. )
Most of the time the "other" tasks are more interesting, but since I wasn't sure which of the NPCs had which tasks, I didn't assign them to any.
Ok, now as I said there are few bugs. In fact, I'm only certain of one bug, and it may be a Noobland only bug. But in the interest of fairness, I'll list it (and also to pre-empt any attempt to use it as a flaming club on others here).
The Local Suppliers have a right click option called something like "What we prefer to buy". It then lists in a chat bubble and in either system info or chat, what he will supposedly pay more for.
The problem is that you can't sell those items back to him, nor at the Raw Materials merchant.
Ok, okay. You want information, you got it. Use it to your benefit. But ask yourself this : which side is giving you substantial information and which side is just blowing a lot of emotional smoke in the wind?
I leave it to you, dear readers. I wish you well.
