The patch1 was only a catalyst.

And because EQ2 came out. There were people who stated from the beginning they would only stay until that and WoW beta.

Why buy a mmorpg game for a transition period?

And err... EQ 2 has nothing out of the ordinary, EQ original is still better (and I hate EQ) :/
