For the general basis, I'll assume you are level 80 offensive affliction because you didn't bother saying.
If you are using the highest possible affliction spells available to you, it states:
Magic power parameter stanze recommended for <insert magic spell here> of enemies whose average skill level does not exceed 80.
And you are killing things that are giving everyone in your team 1kxp, and your highest level is 100. At 133, killing a 2 star Marauding ragus who dropped q132 mats, I would get 959xp per kill. Now the more people you have in a party, the further the xp gets reduced. So in order to get 1kxp in a party with 'a bunch of people' you would need to fight things of a pretty significant level over your lvl 100 friend. And your skill is only 80 (still don't know if its elemental or offensive affliction).
I've seen lvl 50 melee fight people try and contribute with melee, miss the entire time, and get no xp.
No longer can you have a big disparity in levels (especially in any magic but healing) for a hunting party to get xp all the time.
Whats a big disparity? Because there was 17 lvls of disparity between my friend and myself. Is that too much? We were getting about as much or less XP as I can get solo in the same amount of time.
They force us to group, then they make grouping a chore where you have to make sure everyones level is within 5 points and that you don't attack anything thats more than 10 lvls higher than you, or else you won't get any xp...
Please, don't even attempt to defend this. I can't think of any other game that is this retarded about grouping. Even EverQuest was alot more friendly towards putting a group together, especially at the mid level range. Recent games to hit the market (except for Ryzom it seems) have even gone out of their way to make it so that people of all different levels can group. Ever played City of Heroes and used their side kick system? It lets me boost up any of my friends to my level so long as they are within range of me. This lets us both go out and play together, he gets xp appropriate for his level and I get xp appropriate for my level and all his abilities and powers get boosted up as well so he can contribute.
Comparing that system to what Ryzom has to offer right now is like comparing pristine water to a pool of stagnant feces.
Enjoy it I guess...
