Umph,,,I know people are angry and feel helpless. As do I feel that the crying and complaining is getting old, I would like to hear from some who are trying to make some headway in the game, and I know there are probably a lot of know-nothing lower level people like me that are out there playing, most likely just cause we like the game.
But, though I feel for everybody and have had to cope with the high dp, i have no intention of quitting.
I guess my request would be that some of the people that are angry and quitting or quit and still reading these boards or hoping for something to change, will say their piece and be done with it.
Hang around if you want, whine quietly and let the rest of us figure out the best ways to play, you did your part, you got your levels and had your fun, I appreciate what you all did, cause you opened up the game. And unfortunately, now it is closed to you and it won't be easy to do what you did. But some of us are going to try.............
so sit back and be patient (or not) but I want to see some positive posts, enough of "put it back, or I am quitting".

I sympathize on the redundancy of many of the "I'm cancelling" posts. Those really don't add much value and while some are eloquent, many are close to whines.
But...calling much of what else going on as a 'whine' really tells me you either haven't gone into much detail on the posts or just don't get it.
There are numerous, separate topics that have been raised, many by players like myself who spent time on ATS warning against many aspects of the patch. Allow me to summarize some of the discussion for you.
- Original harvesting nerfs
- Harvesting overboosted
- Communication by devs
- ATS membership issues
- ATS feedback ignored
- Bugs in patch 1 that were known prior to release
- Mob behavior and range
- Mob fighting ability
- Melee fighting vs mobs
- Dodge/parry vs mobs
- HPs required to fight mobs
- Ranged fighting fixes
- Elemental attacks vs mobs
- Affliction spells vs mobs
- Heal issues prior to second patch
- Heal issues post patch
- CC crafting bugs and amps
- Crafting bugs
- Crafting nerf
- Item costs
- Solution to patch problems
- Mektoub issues
- Newbie problems
- Newbie difficulty
Maybe you're not referring to these as 'whines'...I hope not, as it defames those of us who have been trying to be constructive and help fix things that are wrong. But combining all of these separate posts into one thread really doesn't help anyone except fanbois who want to censor people who are very concerned about the direction the game is going.
And keep in mind none of them would exist had Nevrax listened to feedback about the ATS patch and done the right thing and delayed it.
So, I'm glad you're enjoying the game. But I for one am going to continue working to try to fix the things that are broke. If you want to be an ostrich and bury your head in the sand, don't read the threads.

ramdex wrote:Aye.... I've been floating this board for awhile now... and it seems that everything is useless "I'm leaving" posts. I don't see how that helps in any way, shape, or form. Sigh....
Because this game is a buisiness and the people saying they're leaving are the people the business depends on to pay the bills. One can do anything they want, attempt to achieve any goal they choose, but when a persons goal depends on finances from a customer base the customers opinions overrule the desired goal for continued financing. Basic buisiness. (Advanced buisiness would please both sides but that takes time.)
So basically from few negative posts to many, many negative posts after the patch, it's a early warning sign someone has to look at the financial records to truley find out if a mistake was made and if so, to fix it. And if not, to not fix it- all minus any ego considerations.

A well thought out response to this guy. I applaud you for it, but I know you must realize that the original poster is nothing more than the garden variety Nevrax Fanboi/Cheerleader who is mortally offended that someone has any issue at all with his beloved pile of feces called Ryzom.
There are a few of these poor souls still lurking these forums and while I find their delusions somewhat baffling (and mildly amusing), one cannot help but take pity on them. No amount of rational response or logical argumenation will convince them that all the unrealistic dreams and hopes they place on the shoulders of a pile of bits is unfounded.
The original poster can claim whatever he wants, but using the word "whine" in his subject as well as the contextual reading of his post belies his true intentions. He is upset, upset that people would have complaints about his beloved Ryzom and wish for all of these evil "whiners" to go away.
Sadly, he will most likely get his wish as I do not see any remedy to the current situtation on the live servers being forthcomming.
Eventually him, Shrike and possibly pcheeze (sp?) will be able to all play together on the single lone Ryzom server hosted on someones notebook in a closet in France.
More power to them I say.

well I have to agree a bit with the orginal poster.
But everyone has a right to complain it will help I am sure.
But the stomping off and quiting cause it isn't going the right way is a bit much
my friends and I played for about 4 hours. It was fun. I got rid of one 138K dp and 2 26K dp's and level up my healing 10 levels.
now I am sure you big players are going to laugh and say so
I am not a power leveler or player. I have the best friends in game.
we played tonight and had a blast. Yes it was a bit harder and the plants did do us in once. also we got mobbed by a mess of arana's but it was fun and exciting. Beats just sitting there and not having to work or think.
Some times to exciting but so much fun, good friends, good experience everyone got rid of thier dp's even one that had a hugh one that was well over 300K and one had one of over 1 milllion.
It was just a great time. I don't solo never could always have died walking out on the road. But in team it is great.
I think it has improved. WE had no problems with anything but then I didn't the other night
I think people who left didn't give it a chance. yeah it is harder but isn't that the name of the game. people would not like it if it was to easy. Yes there is a few problems, but give them a chance. I think they are trying. After all they didn't do all this just to throw it away they don't want it to fail.
ok, you all start telling me how wrong I am. But it is my opinion.

Memiki, I agree with you. I think the original post has merit, if not in reality in concept. There really are things that need to be looked at in the game, and everyone want their voice heard. A hundred post on the subject will do little good other than clogging the forums however. Still a single post cannot encompass all the various opininions about it, nor the issues players feel they need addressed.
That said, I still don't understand the main gripes. I heard people log in and be furious that they could not equip their weapons and cry that Nevrax had screwed them, just like other players said. Someone was kind enough to point out that they needed to buy attributes to equip weapons, that there was a stat reset. I have played for months now, the mobs have undergone many changes not all bad, not all good. I thought it was kind of silly that the lower level mobs could not even touch me, it was common to see many running around with "pets" becasue the vicious rags could not hurt them. Now I have to pay attention to them, and kill them. I am not high level, only a bit over 70 melee, but I am killing all the things so many are complaining about that they cannot kill at level 110. I am not bragging, simply saying I don't understand. Players who are more powerful than me, surely as smart as I am and as knowing of the game as I am claim they cannot get by.
Perhaps Nevrax really is the evil empire, and have given a few of us different games than others just to keep the americans guessing. But I doubt it. It is certainly not perfect but it is playable and fun.
Ok with that last statement, someone will call me a fanbois because I didn't say that the devs are retarded chimps who programmed the game by mashing their forheads on the keyboard, and all french should be disembowled and left by the side of the road as an example to all "foreingers" of what happens when you screw with an americans game. But, it will be lost on me... 1.)I don't really understand the term fanbois is that some sexually androgenous person who likes the game no matter what they do to it??? and 2.) is that of french origin???

Jivalax,
There are three possible scenarios to describe the experience you are having:
1) You are fighting things way below your level.
2) You are exaggerating about what you can acomplish in the game to make a point.
3) You are incredibly superior to the rest of the players on this forum who are repeatidly getting their asses handed to them over and over again.
Now, I don't know which one it is, but logically it has to be one of the three. Either we are all idiots or your experience is an anomoly.
Hence why people refer to posts such as yours as being that from a "fanboi". You can refuse to believe the people who are having issues, or think that they are merely inferior idiots who can't cope with the game. Whatever, its your choice. But people like the original poster getting upset at people for being frustrated is actually the epitomote of childish behavior.
People complaining about not being able to advance their characters is a legitimate gripe. Asking people to move it someplace else is not the original posters or yours responsibility. That duty belongs solely to the CSR's who monitor this board.

Perhaps eegreen was simply frustrated, as many of us are. In any case, eegreen certainly responded to my (somewhat snide) response in a very civil manner. Agree or disagree, I take my hat off to you for that eegreen.
Lets all cut each other some slack.
