How is it that the skills required for fullfilling the base forage level, 1-5, equals roughly twice the amount of skill points one gets?

I'm not complaining about forageing its self, just the skill's prgression and ones assosiated title.

maybe this should be a diff thread..

midnight wrote:well you touched the point i wanted in the first place. i.e. the skill cost

you may call me a whiner to your hearts content it won't change my opinion that the cost of skills are too high when you have to get all three types to get even one mat without getting wasted or ruining the deposit in first try

and yes i have tried it in OB where the harvesting was WAY too easy, i agree on that.

perhaps a smaller price for the first steps like 1 and 2 and then increase the price for later levels so ppl will get a chance of starting but will have to choose later on

Another item would be perhaps an Official guide to harvesting and not just the various 'hidden' guides that are on the different forums and no newbie are aware of before some helpful soul takes pity on the poor sod and tells where to look.
mind you i'm NOT going to write one as i'm not sufficiently into how to harvest yet. after all i'm only level 63

well here we go -----> skill points
I've have been playing for 3 days, i think it works really well if we could lvl any quicker i'd say that we would be dumping the game quicker..Because then we would run out of things to do. Im only lvl 24 harvest and yes it does take a while but then as soon as i have enough to get a new skill my eyes widen and im pulled in for yet another 2 hours seeing if i can use it in any special way.. i have found that lvl ing become very special part and the fact that you have put a lot of effort into it pays dividends when you get your reward.. Its a game .. games are fun ..Ryzom

Just want to add my 2 dappers....

I was level 51 pre-patch, pulling 1x q50 at pyr or 2x q50 at Dyron.
Post patch, I pulled 4-5 q50 at Dyron and 3-4 q50 at Pyr.
Now in 1 week only, doing about 2 hours over 5 nights (10 hours)
I am now at Level 71.
I now pull 7-8x q80 at Dyron.

I have Agressive speed 3, Agressive rate 3, q80 and Dessert special 2
I also have Resource Pres 2 and Ground Stab 2
And i did this SOLO - yup, i watched the little bars and swapped from my extraction stanza to my care stanza and back again.

WITH a carer (did this a few times) I can pull 14+ q80

I also have 850 Focus now, up from the 600 i had a Level 51

I really dont know what the complaints people have about this are.... or costs being too hard... it all revelvant...

I can ONLY prospect 10m by 40* for 1 source with no extra time or info.
Up to quality choice (or choice only)

so i didnt use the SP there, thus got better extraction/caring

Anyway... this is an old thread so hope all the people out there who were finding it hard and not liking the changes have figured it out and feel better...

in general, the games works better in teams... though everthing is posible solo, just a little slower (grinding)

:P

Just a little notice.

With the current system it is VERY useful to use a full focus Jewel and Armor set.

Since Jewels are not limited to any lvl at all, even a lvl 1 Harvester is able to wear Q120 (+60 Focus) Jewels. That is 600 focus from jewels alone. You wont run out of focus for a while then.

Getting a few crafting lvls to get the focus will help as well. But don't invest too many, you will eventually run out of things to "buy" with harvesting SP (I have 450 SP spare in harvest atm)
