There's no way to get out alive of those without serious skills
Hehehe, This thread was about PVP but i guess its turned into Mage wars... hm... lol
My points were about PvP as well, mages have enough defenses already. If you take a mage 60 and a fighter 60... if the fight starts at a range, there's a good probability that the mage will win.
Anyway, i hope a defensive spell is introduced pretty soon, it would help the mages in the game who like to get in close and personal.
You mean in addition to root, fear, stun, sleep, etc? Or do you insist on having an EQ wizard with shadowstep/nuke / EQ necro with darkness/dot/lifetap; or even more annoying an EQ enchanter with mezz/manatap stun-nukes? That's basically how PvP went on EQ, mages were overpowered at first; so they made a 66% cap on their damage, it wasnt enough so tons of resist gear was necessary to bring any kind of balance, until all balance was destroyed for the casters. Similar things happened in DAOC to casters...
Casters are always overpowered in PvP when used correctly, and somehow caster players always feel like their fragility should be an excuse to make them invulnerable by adding things like teleports / permanent roots etc?
Additionaly... last night the problem wasnt that i couldnt handle myself, it was that i was getting ganked by 3 or more of a single mob.
Wrong pull, or wrong fight location. If a tank pulls 3 more mobs than his target, he's going to die too. No difference there. In any case it's not the sort of situation where any category of character can survive easily.
Then id run and end up running to the edge of the land lol.... which was fun i must admit, then id die... lol...
What do you think a fighter would have done? Killed all 3 adds? Even small goaris can still be a threat to someone who's fighting a bigger one, they hit hard from time to time... others like baying gingos seem to have waaaaay more hitpoints than baying ragus...
If you want to survive you'll need to learn aggro ranges, survey the patterns in mob behaviour, know your spells, and chose your fight location correctly. It applies to fighters as well...
Now i know im pretty low level, and i will advance to be able to handle such situations, but to handle situations where there are alot tougher mobs i think mages will require a shield spell... all im saying.
Err... how low? Because you seem to have quite a few misconceptions
