You sure? I just logged in was able to access the old dev chats... and found the answer to a question that was proposed on another message board.

Your poll left out the option for zero. In this game I do not see any reason to remake your character except to change race or to change appearance.

Changing which skills you want to learn or which items you want to use is easy and can be done more effectively by shifting focus on your existing guy than by starting over.

This is something Nevrax needs to address fairly urgently, a more complete online database would help - bestiary, materials etc.

A more useful graphical display of the skill tree etc etc...

Some of these things can be done by third party websites, and im sure over time they will be, but at the moment solid information is lacking.

Its ok for ex beta testers to say they never rerolled, would about the other 99.999999 percent of planet earth who never played beta?

ermmm... why does there have to be a complete online database? And what makes it so "urgent" that Nevrax needs to do it? Every game that I've played that was worth my time had that information on 3rd party sites (those sites did not get their databases populated with useful information until several months after a game's release, because they rely on the players to provide the information) and the developers had nothing to do with them nor did the developers provide that information openly.

What's wrong with the display of the skill tree? The way it is currently (in game) is you see what you can currently get and what you can possibly get all the way through to the end of the next branch in the skill tree (i.e. at level 51 you can see all of the skills that you will be able to buy all the way up to the tree branch after level 100).

The point that everyone that has never rerolled has been making in this thread is that it is unnecessary. It does not matter if the person has played in beta or not, the point (again) is that it's not necessary to reroll in this game unless you wish to change your race or your appearance.

It's been my experience and i'm sure some will disagree, but I've found in practically every MMO that I've ever played it's never necesary to reroll a character due to mistakes. There's always a way to correct what you've messed up, even if you think there's no other way.

This post is not exactly on target with what the thread starter had in mind but! I have rerolled or created 5 toons. My forth one I thought was my last but I totally got blind sided by the Fame factor. My Fame with the Kami is a horrible -33, I just could not leave a good area alone and I kept taking two different plant species and unwittingly I'm now the target of their wrath. It is kill on sight and I'm the target of a group of humans (their name escapes me now). Happened because I did not know the various nuances of the game and so I made yet a 5th toon because I do not know how to fix the problem with the Kami. So my point is that more info would perhaps have kept me from committing suicide. By the way is there a way to work off my Fame problem by undertaking some new path that would work off the problem. I'm only a level 30 Fyros warrior but I do like this toon better then all the rest. Thanks in advance for your help.

Pardon my curiosity ... but did you, perchance, check your civilization fame with the Kami?

Odds are high that it is -33 or thereabouts.

I may be wrong though.

Your fame with the Kami is negative for one of two reasons:

1. Your character is a Matis or Tryker, being Karavan aligned means bad Kami Karma (most likely the cause of your Kami fame issue).

2. Your character is Fyros or Zoraï and you've attacked a Kami aligned tribe. Yes, just attacking a Kami aligned tribe like the Hamazans of the Dead Seed or Leviers will drop your fame with the tribe and the Kami and fast. If you keep attacking them then they will quickly begin attacking you on sight.

The NPCs are attack you on sight for one of two reasons as well:

1. The group attacking you is a bandit group...they attack everyone.

2. See #2 above.

Killing the plants didn't lower your Kami fame, that is guaranteed.

Thank you for your interest in trying to help me. Here is a little more information.

My toon is not Fyros but Matis which will contribute to starting Fame! I hunted a particular spot for about 1 1/2 hrs. killing Psykopla plants. There was a line of "Turn of the Tide" passing within 10 to 20 feet of me much of the time I was there, and they never attacked me. I have never killed a human in the game so no Fame points lost on that account. Then at the end of about the 1 1/2 hrs. thats when they attacked me and will attempt to kill me on site, from that time forward (of course I have killed all of their members since that event).

Now I went back to that area today and checked my Fame and it was still -33 with the Kami. I killed 3 or 4 of the Psykopla plants and my fame moved to -34. I had no other interaction with any other wildlife or people during that time. The conclussion that one would draw is that the killing of the plants was the only contributing factor in the change of Fame with the Kami.

So is there a way anyone knows of how to fix the Fame problem with the Kami or should I not worry about it and just get on with my adventures?
