Language is only a barrier if you let it be one, it is not a barrier in DAoC or EVE Online, okay in DAoC most talk English or try too.
In EVE, you have English as the main language and several sortoff seperate communities where other languages are spoken ( French, German, Russian ), still these communities clash, work together, etc. It makes the game so much richer.
As has been said, reset the outposts, let people fight over them again, I'll gladly join that fight
Most importantly, it would reinvigorate Ryzom, and the French and German that don't want to mingle can stay in their own little guilds and communities, but there will plenty trying to work together or fight against each other.
It has been proven in DAoC, and the big difference is that DAoC has been tarnished by bad development, while Ryzom is still untainted in that regard imho, it is still pure, fresh even, especially for many possible new players.
I also read that the Russians got their own translated client and are playing on the Arispotle server, so proof that it can work.
