If you care so much about a clean start, where is the problem to create a new account with it? After all your account name on those forums and in support chat will give you away sooner or later.
I don't see /who as *the* huge problem you describe. It's nice to see older and newer players, but does it destroy their life?
The major problem with the way /who works
Re: The major problem with the way /who works
Interestingly enough, I´ve had confirmed and true newbes above my name in /who a few times already.groundhog wrote:

So, this "oldest account comes first" myth may be just that?
Anyway, if you´re oh so concerned with someone "spying" on you, or don´t like to be discovered yourself, then just for the sake of the argument, consider playing fair sometime.

Re: The major problem with the way /who works
This thread is actually pretty comical. Some are saying they want to be/remain hidden or anonymous for whatever reasons, others say they had no idea this was the way /who worked (laugh at this), and yet others (like myself) who don't care if it works this way or not. I guess it is a good thing we can't use /who in Uni, that would make this conversation really interesting, and keep the rumor mill operating at full speed. Who cares where your name appears on the region listing? I use it to find out if anyone is around in case I blow myself up or get gassed. *hands a mug of Zorai ale to all* Cheers and relax everyone.....

I have to agree. It's a game. Who cares. To me who just lets me know if someone is around or not to rez me. I don't care if you are at the top or not doesn't make a bit of difference.gcaldani wrote:Can I ROFL?
I remember you that this is just a game, nothing really important and that will never affect your real life, that's the only thing that counts.
hehe I guess it really isn't important, I seem to always be on the top of the list. Not that it matters.
Like I always say, Ryzom is different, it is not like any other game, so come into game with a fresh mind and forget everything else.
I don't care if anyone wants to make an alt, to spy, it is a game, it is not going to matter to me if they spy, what are they going to say. Oh they are going to attack this OP or that OP. So.
Sorry I just have no problem with it. To me there are more important issues for the devs to work on other than /who being used by spies.
If you fear on being recognized due to issues you had when in game last time then it is your own fault if you acted like a 2 yr old. Time to grow up and face the music.
If that is a big concern Groundhog in deciding if you will return I am sorry for you.
Yes this thread is becoming comical.

Oi Zyra! I genuinely had no idea, because I very rarely used /who in the past. The last time I used it was when all old accounts could play for free - and I was on the only player in Witherings when I tried itpetersk wrote:others say they had no idea this was the way /who worked (laugh at this)

No worries Daz..Nothing personal of course. Some may actually have not known, while others did. Again, it matters little to me if it works this way. My Silan alt is almost always on the top of the list there, with a few exceptions. Regardless of how it works, it is a nice tool to find a friend in region. Good hunting to all!!

Re: The major problem with the way /who works
Damn, you got me. That is the absolute number one priority in my life. If I'm in an area where my name is NOT on top, I politely suggest to the ones above me that they should kindly leave MY area immediately. If they refuse, I then throw a small tantrum, consider leaving the game forever (and I'll mean it this time) and deleting all of my toons! Or, I will move to another area until I am on the top, but that isn't preferred.groundhog wrote:I've concluded that you do care about having your names at the top of the list.
