It's a real shame subs couldn't be introduced in the initial re-release boom
I know lots of players where ready to throw their dappers at the new owners (and some not
)
Though congrats on getting everything you need in hand.

It is true though, that those players who may be willing to subscribe if there is a meaningful content update other than (needed and appreciated) bug fixes may not be able to post constructive feedback if the game goes pay per play "as is" and unsubscribed members are locked out...
It may be ok, it may put those flame retardant suits to rest, but it can be positive (?) to let forums open (even in a restricted thread) even if game is not (I promise I would not use it to complain only
)

on a side note I'm not subbing for reasons that are nothing to do with content, lack of pvp etc, I think they are doing a cracking job of keeping the game going and adding new (old) stuff but I simply do not have the time to commit to this game to justify a sub.

I will resubscribe two accounts.
This won't help without some concerted public relations server-side. Volunteers can't do what needs to be done. The new players wander in by chance and when they realize how depopulated we are, they go again. They haven't seen what it was like in the beginning (population I mean, not bugs heh).
Best of luck, ladies and gentlemen. I would very much like to see this impossibly beautiful and star-crossed game succeed.

Maybe re-emailing all the fomer players again with a tempter might bring some life back again, now that the game IS actually opening. It was a great idea last time and worked well bringing us full(-ish) servers and a lot of much needed life back to the game, but the 6 month lag between that and any actual action drove them all away again. I'm eager to put my money where my mouth is for SW or whatever they are called now, but that "you hae a month free" email brought a LOT of ppl out of hiding, only to disappoint them. Now would have been the time to do that, and well, you can't turn back the clock, but maybe it might work again, albeit with a slightly reduced effect.
Just a thought.

I will gladly pay $10/month when we can. During Ryzom's hiatus, I played several other MMOs (WoW, Entropia Universe, RF-Online, Rappelz, EVE-Online, etc...) and they all left me wanting Ryzom even more. I hope we can keep Ryzom alive!

Idea for SW....Ask yourselves, would I download a game that I played 3 years ago and got bored of in the hope that it has gotten better? Many of us would so "no"..Scrap the name or revamp it ie. The Kitin Saga (A homins journey) or SOR Epic 2..Wipe the servers, ADVERTISE and relaunch..you may get a larger population to check it out...GL

You may be trying to barbecue livefire but you're partly correct. I'll be resubing because Ryzom has many features that I still enjoy playing, and i see alot of potential.
Its true with absolutely no new major content or any real attempt to bring the Story of ryzom into the game and out of the dusty tombs on the developers' desks there isn't going to be the same sort of fan-fire...
A MMorpg is an rpg afterall and with currently no major story arc in game besides team A vs team B type of mentality it won't last long. I would definitely suggest the current story-dev-team look at some other games to see how major story lines are brought into the games. Story in the games is a major part of attracting rpg players.
Ofcourse we have threads and threads of good suggestions here for content adds. But Eve is my best example of a game that really knows how to implement story and content in the best symbiosis. (ex: a simple in-game news paper!) But I'm sure there are some other good game examples out there...

No mate it was a legitamate suggestion..Dont get me wrong the game is good, I personally didnt like the direction it took and the mismanagement side of things throughout..But yes all in all it has more potential than most of the games on the market still to this day..Just deserves a fresh start rather than another attempted revival is all..
