Re: Riffy Rithy Returns !
I heard what you all did; well done everyone! It sounds like that Vorax was quite the challenge! Lady Ailan has asked me to pass on another message to you all:
Lady Ailan wrote: Friends,
Padger O'Toogh has reported back to me that you all performed admirably tonight! So admirably in fact that Ba'caunin Jidgen, Chief of the Cockroaches, has agreed to help us in our endeavour. My sincerest thanks to you all.
The Cockroaches have already proved their worth as scouts and have relayed to me that they have discovered the rough locations of the packers we seek. Sadly their past treatment was so horrific that they refuse to tell us for fear that we will recover the cube without them... We must meet them tomorrow and recover the packers together.
Please will you all meet me tomorrow at 8pm GMT (3pm EST // 12pm midday PST) at the entrance to Fairhaven so that I can give you the meeting point and wish you luck for the good of all hominkind.
Signed,
Lady Ailan Mac'Kean

About last night's event... well yes, it was ofcourse a small event done by the event volunteers without any major things programmed in by the devs, and was as such... small and limited, and I'm not going to pretend it was mindblowingly awesome, or anything more than a little bit of fun. That being said...
I loved how a special mob was spawned specifically for us to fight.
I loved how normally aggro tribe guards were made non-aggro for the event.
I loved how a little more background about one of the tribes was woven in.
I loved how an already existing NPC and tribe were given roles in the story.
I loved how the event characters adapted and responded to us.
Some of my major annoyances with the old events were that nothing at all in the world was different than usual during the event, that new characters and groups were constantly made up while existing NPCs and tribes weren't used for anything, and that it sometimes felt like the event characters just rattled off their script as though the players were nothing more than audience. This event makes me hopeful that these issues are being adressed.
It's those little extras that really make the events feel like we're playing a part in the ongoing story of a living planet, rather than just playing out our own isolated story against the static backdrop of Atys. Keep up the good work, Event Team!

3:1, 2:1, 1:1 ... probability factor of one to one; we have normality. I repeat: we have normality. Anything you still can't handle is therefore your own problem.
