I wouldn't mind to hunt for two-three real hard bosses (in quality not in quanity, the NPC bosses are enough for quantity for the moment being) in Almati and Nexus. Even Abyss of Ichorr is underused.

Faa, the NPC bosses can be done in hard ways if needed too. More fun imho.

soon I hope that I can invite a few more random guilds to npc's tbh, too much butthurt about them these days.
most guilds on atys have treated us well and I'd like to work with some people who I dont normally play with.
i.e I'd love to see if sunce really can organise a piss up in a brewery and finally see ryz happy parading about in black

Would be nice to hunt with players we dont usally to to play with, you see different sides to people and forge new friendships.

Well, the answer is definitely not to make the present content more and more easy either.
Which is what MMOs traditionally do and from which Ryzom has not been exempt either, just ask any PR digger from the first year.
Anyways, yeah, I understand if you go hunting red bosses with a group of 250s, it's supposed to be fairly easy, since those bosses are meant to be possible with a group of 200s. But then still, they can at least make it more
interesting than "pull out the boss and then nuke it for 5 minutes".
A lot of purple bosses however should be harder in my opinion. You shouldn't be able to do them with 3 people with no danger at all. And no, increasing the boss' regen so that it takes at least 6 people to beat it, but there's still no danger at all, does not qualify as "making it more challenging".

Ive always thought that bosses should be more difficult.
Would be cool if bosses could call for local support. by this i mean that a kitin/herb/carn. boss could call for "help" within 500m from other kitin/herb/carn mobs (either spawned or from the region itself) to come and kill homins which is problomatic for homins for 2 reasons:
1 the team killing the boss will have to deal with more mobs for all directions. - it would be difficult to know where to look and mobs could easily attack healers etc.
2 (if implimented correctly)other players in the region could potentially get dragged into the battle while trying to rtun away from kitin/carns. For example a digger digging 250m away could see a whole bunch of carns running towards him and have to run away. the only choice would be to run away from the mobs (who are heading to the boss) thus forcing the homin to run towards the boss or fight the mobs coming towards him.
Meh just my 2 dappers

Is it normal that a yellow boss *cough*Clopperketh*cough* seems harder than a orange or red boss ?
Still doable to bring them down without a clock and a calendar when you're lucky enough.

In your example the digger would have to try to run out of the trail the carns are following towards the boss. If he attempted to run towards the boss, the carns would most likely catch up with him and kill him before he reached the fellow homins fighting the boss. Besides, what if theres several diggers and/or unsuspecting players on the path of the enraged carns? The carns will stop to kill them instead of rushing to help the boss so that would defeat the purpose.
Your idea is interesting though, sounds like fun but still, making existing mobs more difficult in order to please the players that have outgrown them is not a good idea. New, more difficult content is the answer for them.
There is simply not enough content in the game to please the players of every skill range and playstyle right now, and that is one of the big challenges the present dev team has to face.
Besides, this thread was supposed to be about the questionable habit of boss farming, not about boss difficulty level

I used to maintain a calendar of bosses, when I was able to play most nights - these days this is no longer possible. But even when I did it then it felt a bit unfair on people that simply didn't have the time to do this.
Now that I myself am one of those without the time it actually feels less unfair - there should be some reward for dedicating lots of time to boss hunting. However I like the idea of a boss that respawns randomly.
I really dislike the idea of random locations - all (well nearly all) bosses have their own little nook or cranny - it would be a shame to lose this. It should be possible to go boss hunting for an hour - checking the spawn locations you know and/or are interested in and with a bit of luck finding maybe one per continent. ((actually in the old days this was possible anyway, it was just the 'valuable' bosses that were near impossible to get without a spawn calender - be nice if these were less calender-able)).
Also it would be nice if Kibakoo's mats were fixed, and the bosses that don't spawn properly were fixed.

I hope that it will become a bit better when ryzom starts to be p2p again. Guess some people have opened up some further accounts in order to have their twinks distributed to the various places and are checking on bosses without actually taking a single step. This, combined with the calendars which those people of course have, makes it quite hard nowadays to find a living boss.
