This is a forum, expect debate and that people will answer you, was anyone rude to you? No, people gave you answers and expressed their opinions. /shrug
And what did the email tell you? It'd be nice of you to let the rest of us know..

I like ryzom very much but I don't think there are so many people that like this kind of games and are willing to pay for it. I personaly never realy pay for game in my country the montly fees are quite much same goes to the all poor countries so I understand how people in Brazil feel.
The new owners have to ask themselfs few questions.
Why Ryzom failed 1st time and was closed ?
Will they get enought money to keep working on the game if it go P2P now ?
Will they get more money if they implament micro payments?
I'm sure if they don't start working on the game so everyone can see results how the game is improving it will die again.
I hope the new owners don't expect big and fast income. And I hope they invest in this game and hopefully make it one nice game for all of us.

You can't say give me micro payment without suggesting ways to make it work.
You need to suggest something that doesn't piss off the old community
Make it untouchable to new players from the west(west)
Doesn't go against the core philosophies of the game(IE crafting).
That actually makes money
That doesn't scare other developers away from the engine(They're not just making a game here they're marketing an opensource engine as well).
When you really think about it going F2P only really brings in a pretty small percent of extra paying people(above what a P2P game would, assuming it's a decent game), which is probably a lot less than the current old community.

They do need to ask themselves that question. But just in case you're thinking it had something to do with the payment model, it didn't. There were several factors and payment model was very far from being one.

Wait a minute...
So... you mean I just spent an hour downloading a game that was advertised as "Free" on the main page, with no hint whatsoever at it ever becoming pay-to-play... just to find out that it's going to be pay-to-play eventually?!?
That is absolutely not cool. I've been misled. Might have helped if I just did some research first, but hell... it looked like fun.
Don't say "Free" if you don't mean it. And no... "Trial" does not mean "Free".
My willingness to pay does not extend to video games. However, I'll give the trial a shot. It'll kill some time, if nothing else.

I find that strange, since video games provide many hours more entertainment than other media...
