:) uhm.. the only thing I can say is that I would need to do the rite more often then !

That's.... not a bad idea actually. That's a pretty good idea! :) It shouldn't tick off like DP though, then you'd need to refresh it daily to get the full effect, yuck. The bonus should just last fully for a certain time, say a month, and then the bonus disappears and you need to do a 'refresher rite' to get it back for another month.

I know your initial reaction is "Aaaargh, noooo!". Mine was too. :p But think about it: It would totally solve the problem of a player constantly changing their allegiance to obtain all the rite bonuses! Rites are supposed to be a reward for your friendship to the civilisation/tribe. How much sense does it make that the way to 'optimise' your rite rewards is to do all the rites from a group and then betray them so you can also get the rites from their enemy?

Going back to being a Matis citizen (= 0 Fyros fame) after having completed the durability rite? Fine, you'll keep the encyclopedia entry, but you won't be able to keep the durability bonus for longer than a month, since you won't have the fame required to refresh the rite. Going back to being a Fyros citizen (= 0 Matis fame) after having completed the focus rite? Same story, keep the encyclopedia entry but loose the focus bonus after a month.

They can't implement it now ofcourse. It would need more rites and a more fair distribution of rite rewards to work properly. And maybe some rite rewards would need to last two months, or three months, depending on how much effort it is to refresh the rite. But I like the idea. The 'refresher rite' wouldn't have to be the same as the original rite, it could also be a simpler version of it, or it could be something completely different. If set up right, it could become a fun monthly activity to get together with a group of homins and do the refresher rites together. :)

Okay, sorry for the hijack, back to topic now.

Very interesting type of quest :) But i think its just one more case of making Atys more alive or feeling it like more alive :) Big quest requiring party - great. And i think there should not be any significant quest rewards ever - money, honor, points of smth, fame. So it will not be the only way to grind smth particular - and only one of many ways :)

And more such kind of quests may be fun. Hope more meaning will be bring for tribes/races in future too :)

altilly wrote:Does anyone remember this event? The Zorai had some scientists studying the goo and they began research into making a weaponised form of it. We had to transport these materials/plans from the jungle down to the desert (I think) to avoid it falling into the wrong hands *grin* Of course we had to go via LoU and there was lots of healthy PvP fun and a great atmosphere. We should definitely do this again! Although, IIRC isn't PvP turned off in LoU atm?
Yes, Evolution organized it. The story was that we were kinda experimenting with stuff that we got from the Outpost we had at that moment. Some things didnt go like it should, and we had yuboos and izam dieing near our Outpost and homins lose their hair because of some failed experiments. (Just ask Ulani why she wears a wig...)

As it seemed that the stuff was dangerous we wanted it dumped, so we figured the Goo would be a good place to dump it. As there is no Goo in the Lakelands, we organized a caravan trek from Loria, through Winds of Muse, Bounty Beaches, into the Trench of Trials. There we met a group of Zorais who didn't like the idea of us dumping our garbage in their lands. We didnt care about their side of the story, so we killed them, and dumped the stuff in the Goo when we reached Zorai...

We finished the whole event leaving the professor and the dangerous stuff near the Goo in Zorai. (So they are still there, to be used if we wanted it)

Also the end of the event was open. We didnt know if we would be able to kill the Zorai in Trench of Trials, so there was the possibilty that the Zorai would kill us, and steal the stuff on the caravan, and giving the event another direction or follow up.

If you want to read the whole story, here is the link.

(Best comment about the event was Audrey's: Yup, it was great.. thanks you everyone first time i enjoyed an RP event)

And don't worry Sidusar, I won't add this to your tab ;)

That's it, I knew I'd gotten confused in my old age *grin*

Was one of the most fun events I attended, along with Ty's world race. And as others have said, was the first time I truly enjoyed PvP. It helps that we won, of course :p

P.S. Does anyone else miss Audrey? Like the old, uncomfortable armchair that you just love but don't know why? *grin*

Hugs,

That's only half of it. What really makes you know your event was a succes is if a hardcore PvPer says it was the first fun RP event and a hardcore RPer says it was the first fun PvP event. :D

zarozina wrote:Yes, as new content it would be over almost as soon as it has been implemented, at least for those who are already at the point when they are elligible for the quest, but there are (hopefully) always new ppl arriving to lap it up, just as there are ppl who still haven't done the dura/focus rites (me!).
Ok here's the deal......machinery breaks and needs parts. Those big ole drills you see at OP's gotta need repair now and then. How about we have to trek somewhere (to all 4 lands eventually) to buy and return replacements parts. Some gadget for the Karavan Drills; some rejuvinator juice or seed cask for the Kami Drills.

Set up the unused OP's to be run by tribes whereby helping them get stuff has rewards.

And here's a 2nd content proposal....remove the retriction whereby fame with tribes must go down if something else goes up. I would love to roam around to figure a way to get on better terms with more tribes.
