It was made as an advertisement in these animation series. I believe the series usually never had ads, and it pissed alot of the fans of having this in the start of every episode.

Just FYI, these appear to be the old emotes, from before patch 607.
Generally I found them to be better than the new emotes, but opinions may vary.
