I've never experienced the problem you had while digging nodes. I believe they changed the auto equip lately. If you double click a node it will automatically equip your pick while running up to the node. If your pick is already equiped you should run up and stop at the correct distance and start digging immediatelly.

I also noticed that its impossible to quit to the character selection screen. This is probably a new "feature" that has joined forces with the Character Selection screen loop/bug to completely annoy Ryzom players. I hope someone is at least working on a solution to the problem, but I'm terribly worried there will be an extremely slow or non-existant response due to the current financial state of Ryzom. :/

Any news on when the servers might be back up?

I got in on the First server on the server list (Aniro), but had to quit for a while. I went to get back into that server and am no longer able to. I tried getting back into Arispotle, the server I tried at the very beginning and could not. I am able to get into Leanon, but, don't want to start over yet again.

I spent all day trying to get this to work so I could try the game out. I liked what I saw when I was on earlier, but would like to see more...

**Edit: By get in, I mean I am stuck at the char select screen.

A few things people have found to help them logging into Aniro:
Log into Leanon first, then log into Aniro
Reboot the client between making an Aniro toon and trying to log in on them
Temporarily remove the save folder before logging to Aniro

Dunno if these actually have an impact, or if they're just coincidence - I've also heard that Aniro just stopped letting people log in altogether, but this is at least innacurate as I know some have - so there's only one way to ascertain the validity of these methods..
