I would really like to know who is the mysterious benefactor that fixed the problem.

I believe this is a good sign, but we may not know who to thank until (if/when) the legal mess is sorted out, but someone payed for the domain. Whoever you are, thanks! :D

The 3 years already bit was the last thing on the home page, has been for over a month.
The Some News bit is here.

Looks like the domain has been renewed/updated by... someone.

Not sure, never heard much good about Plone so I've always steered clear of it. So I guess either wouldn't be surprising. :p

Since Gameforge tweaked the site for performance I guess it has something to do with rewrite rules ore reverse proxy configurations that don't cover all cases.

I'll see if I can find out who renewed the domain name (no promises!) but since its fixed now, if you changed your hosts file - undo the changes now :D

I've removed the posts including the fix so as not to confuse anyone who is coming along them now :)

I don't like to have my posts edited; what's in them is there for a purpose.

If someone can't read more than a few posts before and after that, that's a pity, but only education can help, and you don't help anyone by deleting information, only by providing more information. It has been stated repeatedly that the domain name services are working again for ryzom.com, I don't see a point in deleting info on how to work around a problem in case that happens again.
Locking threads and editing posts is becoming a habit, and I can't and won't get used to that. I'm not talking about locking flame threads, but tech support threads and discussions that still have potential to be expanded.

I don't want to slight your work for the community by and large, I recognize and respect the work you put into this, but I can not always agree with your moderation policy, and I feel the need to voice my disagreement ;)

That said, I put the info back in, in case ryzom.de or .fr meets the same problems as .com did.
