My opinion: when the game has nothing to deliver people mark their own goals and they go in ANY direction, including this. It was predictable, almost everyone used minor "hacks" like zoom out or in, though the more serious ones surfaced due to the lack of other content.
Don't blame the people too much, its just actio=reactio.
PS: I don't support destructive use of obtained knowledge, however constructive use should be tolerated to an extend imho.

Okay, so next there will be a Game where it´s the goal to hack your way to the treasure, not by the sword, but by the keyboard.
Those (
insert severe insult of choice here) could go there and have their Idea of "Fun" if it was for me.
But anyone cheating his/her way to stuff normaly reserved for those who realy play the game is in my oppinion a very sad excuse for what it´s like to be an Online Gamer. In adition to being a likewise sad excuse for a human being. And while the quote of of actio=reactio is cynical as hell, well... justification of the own failings by those of others always was a method worth its while. Sadly.
You "don´t support destructive use of optained knowledge" allright, but where to draw the line? Your argument is, because there is at the moment no real "contend" for us to play with, we should be allowed to do illegal things.
Thats just great, go on, destroy whats left of the game.
And if you even dare considering the use of hacking to optain Armor by illegal means to the works of us Video enthusiasts, then you´re on a completely wrong way, that I personaly find very insulting.
I realy hope there is a way to find out who has optained his/her armor legally and who hacked his/her way to it. Ban those (
insert above or other insult) and never let them come back.
Blizzard banns for life, for smaller things.

There is no pride in obtaining a rare/hard to get item through hack. It's quite a shame, in fact. Lack of content is in no way an excuse or a justification to hack. Quite the opposite, as a matter of fact, since hacking to obtain something ingame just takes away the merit and feeling of accomplishment you gain along with the fun/hardwork of doing it yourself. Hacking to get those items just completely takes away what makes their value : the fact that they are rare or difficult to obtain.
Either you let those foul lazy weaklings spoil your game, or you ignore them, do it the REAL way and be proud of yourself for being really worth of the reward. Those who found the hacks should work on a way to prevent them from being used instead of using them... THAT would be a useful way of putting your hacking talents to the test... instead of killing the game even more for those that still play !

hopefully they can resolve the issue using the logs if there are any, *if* the game survives
or search for ppl with CSR wands, not IG NPC armours
any of this gear in your inv = permaban
but with jack-all subs they hardly gonna ban all these ppl because the sheer amount of this gear I saw in game in just a few hours
cats out of the bag with proper npc armours so cant see how to resolve that
heh this is how I imagine the ryzom.org project would go

Sadly Jakoba, thats what my worst fears for the .org project are too.
One can only hope that it will in some way self regulate, if it gets the bid.
Anyway, even IF so many idiots use haked stuff, so what, ban them.
I won´t shed a tear for them, even if it would mean the Game would die because sudden (blood) player loss. Better to play a game thats worth playing, than having to cope with such [ Edit for language - Boroshi ] .
Allright, in every Game there will be such idiots, but excuse my naivety, I´d never thought that Arispotle and with it a large part of the once famous Ryzom Comunity could sink that low.
I´m disapointed, but well... lazy hands indeed.
And I agree with Kalindra, put your skill to better use guys.
It´s not cool to be a cheating dork.

Worst thing is...some items that have been hacked...werent even implemented IG in the first place. This is very sad

All 'hacked items' have one thing in common, and therefore they can be very easily identified, and removed.

select 'hacked gear' from 'crafted_stuff' where 'username' = nolifelowlife?
