What I would like to know is, why on earth if this is the case, are they leaving it up to players to post here on the forum, (about the billing glitch) rather than coming and making an official statement?
It would go a long way to calming peoples all ready heightened fears about the game closing, and stop more speculation.

I agree with you there, but I would guess that maybe it's because glitches or operations that require developer time and that happen on friday (late friday) are rarely fixed (unless extremely urgent) until monday (devs like / have the right to go on weekend too).
And why they don't post in forums, ore or less the same. Even if there are CSRs IG, they can "share" thoughts or info with players, but when it's about official communication, CSRs have "roles" and may follow policies like "only community managers can post", etc.

The CSRs can only post if they have facts from the people in charge about whats going on and this is obviously not the case.
All post by a CSR beyound the "calm down please" would only be an assumption/rumor by them aswell if not backed by the devs / officials.

Yes, accessing the profile page with some common browsers warn ouaout the certificate.
