I myself am planning an event. It would be quite discouraging to see the weeks of preparation ruined because a battle pops up at my scheduled event time and very few people participate.

How do we plan player run events without conflicting with OP battles?

Im sure if events where set and shown on the forums some weeks in advance people wouldnt attack at the same time as them. we aint that bad

I think the Cats are out of proportion at the moment, But the influx of new players (yes I am an optimist) will change this.
New players will see the cats as becoming scarce....and be used in the original way intended...short boost bonus.
Edit: math adjusted for 14.5 stacks a day
cats arent scarce right now and new players wont make them scarce.
lets just take 250 cat production.
8 250 ops
14.5 stacks a day
30 days a month
14.5*8*30 = 3480 stacks a month.
lets just assume 200 players needs q250 cats. that means each of the 200 players can get 17cats a month. perspective, people in my guild get 8 cats a month. a good bit of those q100 cats.

cats arent scarce, just controlled by greed.

Yes, that is the point I make.

17*8*30 = 4080 stacks a month.
lets just assume half of the server (2000 players) needs q250 cats. that means each of the 2000 players can get 2 cats a month. thats a q250 cat for every fortnight

cats arent scarce, just controlled by greed.
I refer to the future expected player increase (highlighted in yellow) in my post.
In it's current form you are correct though.

I'm thinking of doing a similar one. I hear a sweet little Trykerette has been captured by Slavers and is in need of rescue. Contact me if you are interested in volunteering for a role or to help out running it. :)

Never heard of 'example' figures to clarify a point ?....
Maybe subjective speculation ?.....

I can't make the point any clearer without entering into 'how to get more players discussion'....
Which is another thread if you want to find and participate in that one.

edit - But to tell a secret, I am all in favour of pushing the Ring scenarios more

edit-edit.... I don't want to get pulled into how to get more players because I really don't know the answer viper579 :(

Actually 14.5 stacks per day for a q250, I believe. More than 400 players subbed also.

Kittin invasion Via the ring :

There is a way to make a constant scenario that will count up # kills of certain mobs and once # kills are made, something else happens with another # kills. eventually an exterminator spawns.

say 10,000 points required, lv 50 kitin = 1 point, lv 100 kitin = 2 ect

100+ kittins in the scenario at the same time, respawns are circa 1min, so no real problem unless you can kill 200 kitins in less than 50s ;)

Use of the Universal chat channel from inside the ring is doable so calling backup homins when it spawns is easy

allow the scenario to run 24/7 for a week untill completed.. (provided it doesent crash xD)

death of the final kitin boss resulting in a "pass word" which yields a prize to the combatants that take it down..

even a scenario for each land (and limit those able to join by race :D ), tho hosting 4 seperate scenarios at the same time would need 4 acounts.

i will make this if enough ppl would be interested...

(if the Project Hope works, prize could be creamed of the top fom that, say 5% of donations stored for use as the prizes + dapper donations? of course with the consent of the community :) )

I think it time for less talk and more action. :)

Edit: with reards to prizes, id say add stage bosses that also yield pass words. each one of the "mini" boses having a smaller prize, these bosses come at random ofc

i guess with pass words being displayed on screen via broadcast in the scenario a simple screen shot including, you the homin + the dead mob + the broadcast message would be enough to claim a "share" for that particular boss.
