I didn't forget the launcher and autolauncher, I specifically stated "hunting" guns. You do not "hunt" with a launcher and autolauncher. Considering launcher ammo weighs 45 for 3 shots and autolauncher ammo is lighter but still very expensive for only 6 shots. I did not state these weapons because they have almost no practical use outside of raid. Thus hunting weapons are pistols and rifles.

Skill points really are not the problem. It's cost and effectiveness.
Didn't think I'd be saying this, but I kinda agree with Mordred3. I wouldn't mind the SP costs dropping, it would be nice, but I would rather have the damage/hits-per-minute(/bulk) of ranged fixed. Obviously launchers and autolaunchers will be important once raids become more common, but right now the only reason for pistols and rifles is to try to get the sp's for launchers/autolaunchers, because they are not effective in standard combat.

I do agree with dpi209 on his proposed fixes.

Sadly I'm not even sure autolaunchers and launchers would be useful during a raid. I didnt get the chance to use mine during the raid (as I didn't have any ammo crafted and all the NPC's bit the dust).

At least in regards to launcher ammo - at 45 weight for 3 rounds. you can't carry more than a few shots on you. There were a lot more than a "few" Kitins.

I'll admit launcher ammo does good damage and it is AE, but it's limited to I think 7 targets, which is a bit of a dissappointment especially when faced with swarms of 20 or more. And there's no way Im dragging a packer with ammo around with me while there are Kitin hoardes swarming about. It's fun to use, but I just dont see it being that practical. I'm much better off throwing my bomb cold spells then relying on my launcher.

I'm now at 46 in ranged fight and about to hit the great 2h/1h divide. Never thought I'd do this, but actively thinking about using rifle to advance in 2h for the sole reason of bulk in the launcher and autolauncher ammo. Any suggestions?
