I think this might answer alot of our questions:

http://www.thealarmclock.com/euro/archi ... ke_in.html

I have googled Gameforge and ALL links give 404 messages; i then went directly to Gameforge.de - but since I only speak english, couldnt really make much sense, other then to confirm, as per the link; London based Accel is its current top News item.

The links is dated August 16th 2007 (so 8 days old)

Anyway.. read and form your own views on this...

And once again; PLEASE Gameforge... give us an answer yourselves...

And GameForge is already on Accel's list.

And when i click on either the NAME or LOGO i get a 404 also :P

Never bothered to do a background check on Gameforge when i started Ryzom; made the mistake of assuming they are an established gamming company in a solid financial state.

However as an Ex Ogame player, and several other of those webbased games done by them; i question if Ryzom is actually outside their leauge??

Anyway...

I like i keep saying... want to hear it from the horses mouth...

Not going to force my own views on everyone; but seriously....

Articles which fail to mention Ryzom when dicussing background of Gameforge, and instead point out that GF's 12 MMOG's are WEBBASED?

/sarcasm

great to know even the business world is more up-to-date on Gameforge's state of affairs, then some of its own customers...

/sarcasm off

Odd that none of the articles about this mention Ryzom or Metin2, focusing only on GF's browser-based games.

More funding for GF presumably = more funding for Ryzom, which is good...

I hope you are right.... that GF are actually using their established playerbase in webbased MMOG's to lure in investors like Accel, yet divert significant funds to finally take Ryzom forward :D

Those web based games are huge in comparison to Ryzom, and GF therefore *should* profile themself in this sector. No need to feel jealous that they don't mention the 3D MMOs. They did say that they bought Ryzom because this was the direction they wanted to grow (or something similar to that).

New investors must be a good thing, why invest in a company without potential?

Only because Accel are linking to an obscure page within Gameforge's site that doesn't exist anymore (the page, not the site :) )

Try visiting Gameforge directly and all is well... no need to panic yet ;)

What are GF thinking of charging me $15 a month for a game that allows me to spend time exploring with others......over the last year...and a bit.....I have still not managed to visit many places of Atys after paying almost $200 in fees.

It took me a long time to understand the subtle variances of the Stanza system.....and even longer (still in progress) to maximise their use.

As for crafting...I have spent many a long evening staring at the possible permutations of making....a bullet, But I am progressing well in that (in relative terms using myself as a guide of course).

And now I have the 'annoyance' of my friend list to contend with...how am I supposed to keep track of who is who when I can't put a reference note attached to each name....The sheer numbers of new folk I meet have really bought this problem to light for me.

And as I wander the lands I see references to the older players who participated in the temple wars....incidently one of these players returned last week and stopped to say hi in the newcomer section.....well...several have posted there I have noticed.

Anyway....the point I see is this, over one year has passed and I have not experienced one tenth of the game,
I wonder if folk want to experience the journey or finish the trek ?.

Maybe one day I will join the ranks of those with nothing left to do...but for now I can only thank GF for giving me a game environment that I enjoy every time I login.
