The PR are the high end of the game. The high end of this game is RAID style missions and events, based around whole guilds or lots of players. It was obvious to me that PR would be a very difficult place to get to, and it has been said ALL ALONG that foragers would require protectors. The fact that you could get in and forage alone was an error, and now it has been fixed.

The problem here is that players get comfortable with what they can do and dont like having that taken from them... well welcome to MMORPG 101... things change, games are balanced. Get over it, move along.

I am quite happy that PR is now very hard (and the word impossible only makes me think of my EQ days where EVERYTHING was impossible till someone did it...)

Hooray for the devs having the gumption to make the game more like what it was claimed to be, and boo for the whiney players who want to take their picks and mats and go home sulking.

Well, when i was a little low lvl mage, a person offered me a staff with 97/97 on all stats. A steep price, but good for that kind of quality.
Now, if any high lvl staves of such stats exist, the price will be no less than a million dappers, due to the rarity of supreme mats and the terror lurking in the PR. People were parading in black and white armor, and i used to think 'maybe ill get one of those, they look pretty nice'
Now, i think 'Will kill for a black boot'.
This is how its supposed to be .....so stop complaining. U want the best equips, u gonna have to work for it :D

A few nights a go me and a few m8s where trying to break through i managed to solo through kitin patrols just the once. Through the middle as described in that nice wee graphical illustration earlier :P . I parked my self on the right side entrance sat there 30 mins watching waiting when 2 dam big beasties spawned behind me :/. could have imagined my shock horror so close yet so far and a maxed out dp :) Strolls in mikelaw and jabes, so after a few attemps with them jabes announecs he makes it :P jammy beggar. After another 200k spent on teleport tickets i gave up my m8s long time b4 me :/ but was helluva a fun and i try for bout 3-4 dp'd a night now for I shall succeed oh yes i shall..

I survived in the roots 3 hours the other night and teleported out with no dp and that was travelling between karavan to north of Deadwood stronghold, back down to deadwood hole, sap marsh, over spring and back to karavan harvesting the way managed to pick up some supreme mats not alot Granted though i never ventured much further south as i would have left in a coffin :/.

Though im quite pleased they way they have made PR at the mo especially for non beta testers/new players. 1) After such a big discussion They will be aware of such an area exists so hopefully they will be thinking hey wots this pr place like im gonna get there see if i can master the roots and show everone how its done :) ) . Also Where as if you where a beta tester you knew what to do when game was released forage quick get to pr and bobs yer uncle your way ahead of the playing field. I think the patch was well needed to put a little balance into the game for some folk to catch up and specially non beta testers who dont have the foggiest what were talking bout (then again i rarely ahve a foggiest in wot im talking bout.)

Whilst making supreme matts a teamwork exercise is something I'm all in favour of . the blockade of Zorai is not nice.

Its no fun being cut off. and while anyone with tickets can get out , this penalises new Zorai. If it stays .

And that is a big if , the mobs in the game are meant to be mobile, to move with the seasons as well as shorter cycles.

This discussion doesn't seem to be allowed in the NA forums. Glad to see it can happen here.

Does a Forager going into the prime roots somehow defeat the Kitins? Otherwise the prime roots are still challenge while being possible to enter. Though with the huge packs of level 250 kitins with patrols, I wonder how anything but mega orgs of 250 players are supposed to survive in there.
Answer anyone, seriously? I can understand making it difficult to fight.. but difficult to even see? Challenging fights are one thing, impossible places to get to just to see another land?

On top of that Supreme mats are hard to find, and on obscene season&time timers.

Also keep in mind, Prime Root Foraging is a skill that starts at the uber high level of ... 52. It goes all the way up to 250 for 199 skill levels of prime root foraging. How are we supposed to get that under these circumstances realistically?

for all the people defending these changes, at what point do you consider something to be overkill? any?

Sorry to delude you but in fact we cleared entrance of guards! yes cost is full dp for all but after long battle we was able to get them down in combat counting you need some 6 or 7 people over lv 100 combat an magic...

other way is with patrols but still they are posible to be evaded there is 2 types of patrols one is kitin patrol with range of 120 m and other is normal nettled and awesome kincher group with smaller agresive range. I in fact found that now is easier then with first verison of patrols where all patrols was longg range. and it look to me there is less patrols around.

I think Silverion has neatly cleared this up. If a group of people around level 100 can clear the entrance (albeit with difficulty) then it not only shows it's possible to do, but also that it's clearly aimed at higher level players.

I'll bet that by the time people start reaching level 150 to 200 in reasonable numbers, we'll see regular and profiatable forays into the area. I personally don't go to the Prime Roots, because my levels are simply not high enough and I know if I went it's most likely that all I'd come back with is massive DP. I don't know about you, but I don't intend to spend all my in-game time working off DP for the sake of a few mats. When I (and my guildmates) reach a sufficient level, then we will no doubt have organised forays into the region to secure resources, but to go in at level 50 or something and then complain it's too hard is a bit daft really.

I don't believe the current situation is overkill at all. What it boils down to is that the devs made an error of judgement and made the area far easier than was intended, resulting in people very easily acquiring large numbers of excellent and supreme mats at very little risk.

They have subsequently adjusted this and made the area much more difficult, and before we all start saying how unfair it is and making 'devs suXX0rZ' posts, perhaps we should look objectively at it and say is it really too hard, or do we just wanted stuff handed to us on a plate?

Err as you get higher level and wear the right armor mobs do not hit you as hard + you gain more hit points.. Ragus that used to basically kick the crap out of me now hit me for like 18 dmg if i dont dodge.. When you get higher level tanks and fighters then take a look at prime roots..

What the devs have done here is make a high level area, which DOES mean that it should be difficult as hell to be down there as a 'low level' in 'low level' armor. Any fighters 200+ yet in equivilant equipment tried to go down there and see how the mobs are to them? Yes it sucks not being able to easily get the uber materials at level 50 but i think that is working as intended... (yeah i think it sucks but i do get the point)

It already was difficult as hell down there it was almost impossible to make it to the other side even if u are good at sneaking. Now its impossible to move out of the portal cave. Either the mats should have been reduced and the mobs stay the same or the kitin patrols should have been put in and the mats stay as they were.
