This patch like all the others where on the ATS first, if more Homins took the time to test on the ATS the Devs would have more to work with before patching to the live servers. ;)

Agreed BUT who wants to pay a monthly subscription to work on a beta team or has that changed in the last few years?

OK, So tonight has been so bad, I have ended up logging out, its just not worth me playing :(

Log in 1...I think yay! my GUI is all back to normal :) ...But no keyboard! (exit game, reboot PC, re log)

Log in 2...keyboard back, but no mouse
(exit game through task manager as this is only way I can, reboot PC, re log)

Log in 3...Go digging in pr, and yet again all the flags have gone, OK no prob, its not that hard to find the spots when you know the general area.

First two flags go in OK, no prob...third flag, I crash.
(reboot, re log ...all my flags have gone again, and GUI is all over the place :( ...had enough...log out :(

And be for any one has a go and says 'back up' yes I have backed up, but I shouldn't have to move the save file after every session/crash.

very disgruntled player :(

QFE.

Much respect to those who spend their time helping with tests, but this is what we pay for.

Does the client produce a stack dump we can send in?

Actually, other than some minor UI weirdness and a crash on restart after patching, I haven't had any of the issues anyone has mentioned.

Marjo:

Might I suggest you have your dev team list a set of specific information they would like to see. Perhaps this is related to a specific vid card, driver or something else and if this list is presented, the data you collect might point to a solution. I worked extensively with Themis during the NA beta and w/ Turenkarm in early release and we would exchange e-mails out of game sending dxdiag and other machine related info along with specific steps taken toitry and dupe the problem.

1. I suggest that they dump the background downloading thing entirely. Most issues that have arisen seem to have occurred since this thing was out in. Seems to me that rem'ing it out in the config file just doesn't do the trick.

2. You say that they can't reproduce it. But what are they doing it on ? Do they have the ability to sue different resolutions. I think that I can safely say that despite what the Game Config window says, I am NOT running at 1920 x 1200 when I hit full screen. My fonts in and out of game are about 1.5 times the size I am sued to when every ryzom is loaded. The game windows like map and friends list dont "fit" in their normal spots. Changing to 'window mode" seems to make the problem go away and all my fonts return and everythuing fits again. At every login however, there is a "stutter" at about the 50% loading point. The screen gets minimized, the sound stutters and I'm left looking at the standard windows background instead of the game. It's as if when going to display the character selection window, which I believe is ONLY 800 x 600, teh game resets everything to that resolution and then moves all the windows to fit. Then it remebers that "hey this dude plays at 1920 x 1200" and resets it to display correctly but somehow or another the cfg file that stores window locations has been "saved" to the 800 x 600 state from the charcetr selection screen.

3. In short since the background dowmlaoder was added, I have experienced the following problems:

a) Every patch fails in relaunch. After crashing at around 50% progress load point, the game laod snormally next time.

b) If playing full screen, all you windows will be smunched into lower left hand 800 x 600 box of ya screen.

c) I played for many days after planting flags problems were reported. Then on about 4th day, my 2nd flag plant crashed. each one after that carshed. Playing in windowed mode eliminated problem. Latest patch apperas to have eliminated problem but I have only planted 4 flags while in full screen and I am back to window mode because of b).

d) Again, I didn't get the crash on exit problem until after C manifested itself. Again using window made made problem go away. The latest patch also seems to have eliminated problem but I had only 2 exits under my belt before going back to window mode because of b).

e) Can't document when it started but I noticed it after not being on for 3 weeks around August 1st. All the shadows for structures, mobs, npc's and peeps look like product bar codes. Square boxes with bunch of varying width lines in them. Read the forum post about not using OpenGL but it's just so much prettier in Open GL that I wa shoping GF would fix it before I got too annoyed with it and switched over.

f) This one only since last patch. When playing in full screen and with 1920 x 1200 selcted I am not getting 1920 x 1200 resolution. All fonts in game are larger than normal....alt tabbing out has all browser and other fonts larger and blotchy from LCD being at non standard resolution.

ship you pc to them. they can fix it and you get some quality RL playtime ;-)

dont think, act and press that button on your monitor and CHECK what resolution you running. also, please check whats login window resolution, you spreading false information here.
At every login however, there is a "stutter" at about the 50% loading point. The screen gets minimized, the sound stutters and I'm left looking at the standard windows background instead of the game.
you playing under windows and have that too ? i thought windows was immune to it as my 2 windows are fine just linux behaves like that when running in full screen.

what happens is that game "silently" crashes multiple times (crash dump in log file) and each time it minimizes ryzom. so devs, check the damn log file before you release.

Maybe Devs work on Laptops only :)

I have nearly not had any problem on Laptop: Acer 4150 Travelmate...
I am talking before and after August 20 patch..

Had a runtime error once on log out and all flags disappeared and Interface changed: fixed after i copied copy of save file back on Ryzom folder...

Concerning log out, I always press "quit now" and never wait for the game to quit alone: even before summer patch, I noticed that I used to freeze on the landscape screen of the log out if i waited for the game to quit by itself..

I think i made a few flags and no prob...

Maybe you guys should buy crap PC's :)

when will you all realise that no-one who makes this game gives a monkeys?

they just want to make some money, there is no heart here anymore.

only marjo (who i wouldnt say is gameforge, she is old school ;) ) seems to be trying, and i get the impression that she is the only one that cares.

im talking only gameforge

CSR do a great, but even they are fighting a loosing battle.
