Seems like you could be doing it up to 59 times before you have a genuine reason to....
I am quite scared about this statement.... Nobody do things for fun anymore??

Count me in anytime, close friend or not.
Whoever wants to give lixie, Pei or else a go, just gimme a buzz if I am on.
I will drop anything I am doing and come give a hand.
Dont want no loot, just the fun :)

Sure. It'll be fun, for the first maybe 10 -15 (if your lucky) times, then after that it will be just like another grind, by the time you've taken her down 10 times there won't be any fun/excitment left, becuase it will be routene and mundane.

nevermind, i digress.

^^ Thats exactly it and why I feel the effort isn't worth it.

Theres already so much in game right now which is just a grind, I think the NPC bosses need to be more like normal bosses. Not the silly ones you can do with like 3 people, but still, not so bad as its going to take a butt load of people hours to do and then get bugger at the end of it.

Imho it's easy to say 'waaah, people don't do anything just for fun anymore'. The thing is stuff gets un-fun very quickly when nothing changes. If we had the dev power to changes how the NPC bosses worked every couple or months or so it would keep it interesting. As it is, do it a few times and your bored without getting something decent out of it.

i find myself in the ghastly position of aggreeing with jayce on this
npc bosses are not in proportion to the population of the server.

also annati brings a good point i know that on the other servers they grind kill the bosses to get the crystals only, much better to have them as a guild challenge rather than a faction challenge imo.

So do it 10-15 times then go on your merry way. :)

Anyway, in order to kill it 10-15 times, we would first have to kill it once and thread was more about we can t kill it anyway :)

Now I am not personnally for reducing its difficulty but I would be more for a full battle event with both faction...
Back to beginning of the thread: noone want to team to kill it anyway ...

So you think that someone should spend upwards of 20 hours of there time without any form of reward (not to mention the damage to their gear etc) ?

here's an idea... whoever wants the loot brings the gear as a reward for ppl. if the organizer want to win the battle, ofcourse items must be good ones as those will be used in fight also ;-)

Hours of fun is all the reward I need. In the end it's all just pixels and database entries, ya know?

If you need other forms of reward, that's cool. I don't. Fancy gear and all doesn't pay the mortgage anyway...

Not that I'd turn down a share of the loot, just I don't require it.

*wonders why i haven't gotten to know Sasi yet and is determined to do so!*

hours of fun just trying to take one of the bosses like lixie out is really all the reward i'd need... i've been in Ryzom some 2 years now, and my highest skill? level 230/231 Desert forage.. runner up is 225 2hsword melee... its not about "working hard enough to be rewarded with 250s" .. its about whats fun for me.. and for me when i have to put too much effort into grinding, its no fun! i don't _want_ to work my way to 250s just for the 250s, every level i've gotten, is a level i've gotten for fun. if i feel like bashing things over the head, i'm gonna go bash stuff over the head. if i get a level doing it? thats great :D if not - doesn't matter i'm still having a good time!

and i'd say a good 80%+ of all my levels are cat-free (excluding dig)

so if we could spend say 5-6 hours of a day, trying over and over to figure out just _how_ to kill lixie, finding a proper strategy, learning to work together, and then the fun in _ACTUALLY_ having done it? **** count me in, i'm ALL for it. to be honest? i don't even understand what the loot IS!!! something about crafted armor this or that? i don't know.. but i don't care either :D next time yall do it just shout and i'll follow if i'm free :D
