As the timezones may be different, players can also put my name (same as forum name) on the list of available trekkers..
As Sun Ce said, maybe one hour as max for me to be ready (time to finish fill up my inventory with PR mats and maybe send few tells to see if anyone want to join).
Usual trek time for close-by regions as someone mentioned is 1 hour.
Trek from Yrk to FH can be done in Duo if the new player can heal a little
.
And if u lucky (or unlucky) you end up with Sun Ce and myself and a lot of spamming in team chat

There used to be a thread with this in mind, though I never heard of it ever resulting in a trek. Maybe because it was a little buried in the Guilds section.
Tour Guides.

Yeah, but the list there is less than recent, and could need a refresh. The time swhen I am around are filled with other stuff, for example, so that the chances that I would be available for a trek, are very low.

*claps hands for the brave trekker, wow am proud of you*
yeah KA are lazy etc etc etc..............Pffft, I've not seen anyone ask in uni to be trekked, I've not seen anyone ask in karavan chat to be trekked, mainly kami hang about pyr (out tp is a bit of a trek away you see) so I'm not surprised said person didnt find many karavan to help him.
even the evil karavan guild like TnE
I've noticed trek 100's of new players throughout my time here, I've known them to turn down really cool things as they were in the middle of a trek. hey even I have dragged 4 nubs on a round the world trip (including the PR tp's when new players could get them) on many occasions.
Dont assume you so great and charitable when you clearly know sweet FA about a large portion of the community. Atys Ghosts dont have 200+ people, they do however have a great helpful bunch who stick to their principles and have helped many a new player. Dont go bashing them on this forum with ill informed opinion, Maybe ask Fasi who does know his stuff before you do

Well, I'm glad I found this topic. It would be bad to let it sink in the shadowy lands of the archives.
Now I know which one of you to contact when I reach the mainland with my new characters. I like to travel. And I mostly will be able to help my tour guides (bodyguards, hehe) with a couple of attack/heal spells.

I regularly trek new mainlanders around Atys, in guild or out. And I enjoy doing it.
BUT.
I do this under certain circumstances..
the main one is.. I have to be online.. If RL is causing me hassles then I am not going to be there for you.
Secondly, I have to know someone needs a trek. If Im ignoring Uni because I am doing something else, or because there are people filling it with crap - well unlucky.
(admittedly I cant remember how long ago the last time that got to me was).
Thirdly, If I have pre-existing commitments, such as training guildies - and cant talk them into coming along
Trekking can lead to DP. Dont complain about it.

curious as to what relevance the gender of an avatar ( or did you actually check the player out ? ) has to doing anything in Ryzom ???

Why is this thread full of bad vibes and flames up again
?

Who cares about DP ? Trekking is about adventure and sightseeing (and buying TP tickets), not XP ! And the gender of the character/player has indeed absolutely NOTHING to do with his/her inclination to go trekking.
Why is this thread full of bad vibes and flames up again ?
What is important in this thread is not the flaming, it's the trekking propositions that come afterwards. Ignore the flames or cook your marshmallows on them.
Then feed them to the trolls so they keep their mouth shut.

No offence to all the nice people who posted and made comments regarding the player, Atys Ghosts and their attitude. But you sure as hell aren't aware of the situation.
The player in question left Silan for Pyr of his own accord. Why do I know this? He Followed Me. I was on the Mainland by the 3rd of May, but not by the 1st. so nor was he.
He wasn't told to come to Pyr by AtysGhosts or any other guild at any point, because he'd had no talk or prospect of a guild until after he got to Pyr. He left for Pyr out of his own choice to follow me to the town I went to. I didn't leave Silan till at least the 2nd of May I spoke to my GL about options for a guild for him, and my GL had a word with AG, who agreed to take him in.
I'm confused as to how someone who didn't leave Silan till after the 1st of may be waiting 4 days for Trek and how the same person can paint such a bad picture of a guild, that so many of you are eager to believe. He asked once, didn't get the answer he wanted, and cussed them out. And if he'd have done it to any of you, you'd have had him kicked.
As to the comment about a member of AG saying it was too hard to trek? Gee. Shucks. I'm online right now with 2 new recruits who are both Matis, and you know what I'll say about a trek from Pyr to Yrk or vice versa? Too hard for me to do.
By rights this thread should be deleted as it's using a lie to badmouth a guild.
I'd give the guys name here to prove it, but I think that breaches forum rules, not 100% sure. Nonetheless, I wish I'd never put him in the position to be recruited by AG, but more for the negative effect the Original Post has caused on their reputation.

If it continues like this, we should indeed close this thread and create another one for the new users that need a trek. Or else it will cost too much marsmallows. I'll volunteer happily to keep track of trekking offers.
People should remember that a forum is not a tribunal and that it should never be used in such a purpose. Whatever problems happen between a guild and it's members should stay between them.
*Eats a hot marshmallow*
