Just as a side-note: The ones who first started attacking at the event were, as far as I know, two Karavan players. They started attacking and killing most of the tagged Kami players, who were not initiating the attack, a bit before the event was starting.
Also, I'd say it should be allowed, except while people are talking.

Re: PvP during non faction related events
Roleplayed offenses call for roleplayed punishments. Being kicked out of the city by the guards, getting a penalty to your fame, those are all logical IC repercussions of going into a city and calling for it to be burned down in front of it's leader.aude03 wrote:And you're talking about punishing someone because of roleplaying ?
Well, what would you do if you were the king's emisary travelling to Pyr, and part of your escort starts killing eachother? Get the hell out of there with those still willing to escort you, I would guess.ajsuk wrote:There has been some trek events though, all over many lands and not always gunna be heavily armed one man armys.![]()
Oh no, I didn't have that in mind. While it might be fun the first time if the entire speech is aborted because it ends up in a huge fight between players and guards, there's way too much potential for a few to ruin it for the many. I was thinking any troublemakers would just be one-shot-killed by the guards and respawn with a 15-minute sleep spell cast on them.ajsuk wrote:because as soon as NPCs or player controled NPCs start attacking people the argument is gunna be, well why can't we attack back?

Totally agree on that, that is RP !....but not sure Jayce was talking about IC repercussionssidusar wrote:Roleplayed offenses call for roleplayed punishments. Re: PvP during non faction related events
I'm all for IC obviously, otherwise I wouldn't of bothered starting the thread in the first place. However, I'm also all for OOC(or a mix of) solutions when theres no alternatives rather than people spoiling events.
I'm liking sidusar's ideas. Hopefully some of this can become policy and normal practice. =)

Re: PvP during non faction related events
Agreed, sometimes IC has to give way to OOC. It might be realistic if infighting amongst the crowd and the guards interfering results in a huge riot and the whole speech being cancelled, or if infighting in the army that set out to stop the kitin results in the kitin overruning Dyron, but that would give way too much potential for a few players to spoil every event for the rest.ajsuk wrote:However, I'm also all for OOC(or a mix of) solutions when theres no alternatives rather than people spoiling events.
Where possible I'd like to see these things dealt with in an IC fashion though. Move the troublemakers away from the event by kicking them out of the city, or move the event away from the troublemakers if it's outside of a city. If none of that is possibe, resort to just teleporting them away.
( Personally what I'd like to see in the hypothetical situation that some people start fighting amongst eachother during a kitin event, is that the rest of the army quickly moves on and leaves them behind. And then a squad of elite kinrey spawns on those fighting eachother, captures them, and drags them off to feed them to the larva. That's what you get for giving in to petty hatreds and ignoring the greater enemy. Hey, I can dream, can't I?

Re: PvP during non faction related events
I said no but only during the speech times. But after thinking for a bit and reading the posts they should be allowed to PVP when ever, but as stated in other posts there should be concequenses for their actions. These concequenses should escalate if the offenders continue their actions as in real life!
(I.E.) you start of fight you go to jail for a fixed amount of time and you get a bad reputation.

I am sure there will be some interesting encounters and conversations following the events of the presentation....These are the repercussions I am looking forward to.

I always make note when I witness such behavior during events, and yes, treat them accordingly later
