I'll agrre up to a point. I think we think the same (As everyone else). The only difference is the point where that game start to affect the game of the others.
To avoid the worst of that problem there are some rules enforced by CSR. There are more subtle ways, like provoke the other faction, the lost of manners, and so on... but that is something to avoid by all involved.

I will say though, that you are not forced to PvP ever on Atys. There are some extremists that find a way around that with aggro dragging and similar things though, so beware if you tick anyone off.
I think that has nothing to do with PvP, or even with factions. I think that most of the aggro drag I've receive is by mistake... ok, there are people that don't stay to help or rez, but usually are people who can hardly survive there. I never have seen anyone draggin aggro by intencionally, not kami nor kara. I see in that matter (And I'm not speaking specifically about you) a lot of susceptibility.

You live in the bright shiney part of Atys then Mithur.
Also, punishments for what I spoke of earlier, aren't exactly effective.
But, sorry for getting the thread of topic. Please, jump back to the original topic again.

Judging by the server population as evidenced by the /who's in each region I visit, that's exactly what is happening. Only way to get a number that requires resizing the window to count is to visit a region during an OP battle or go to a spot like Yrakis or Pyr on a weekend where peeps log on to chat w/ friends and are afk most of the time. When was the last time kami tolerance was an issue ?
There may be good reasons that you cannot play the way you'd like - because they infringe upon someone else's freedom to do so - and undesirable reasons - because someone else infringes upon your freedom.
Problem is, as exists this "freedom" is permitted to include "ruining other people's game experience". When all that is left is the subset of population who include this as their definition of "freedom" this group can enjoy the unanimity of opinion and have the game all to themselves. Problem is, how long will GF subsidize the shrinking population ?
Many people just don't want to buy into this "religion". As with many "believers", they are not content living their life their own way, they feel the need to make others live their lives the way the believer thinks they should. What's teh harm in just leaving these people alone ? If a guild /player wants to register as neutral, why not just allow game mechanics to leave them out of the whole "jihad" thing ? Why not just be content with playing the game as you want to without forcing others into that playstyle.
As for the red herring called "consent when you enter", to my knowledge, those who want to play PvE pay the same subscription rate as everyone else. So why the objection to letting them play as they want ? How would not being able to fry a solo digger ruin your game experience ? .... especially since 95% of the community would never consider doing such a thing ?

You are so right with this, although im a "pvper" as u call it, i see no honour in killing some1 in his focus gear and im am happy i havent seen this thing on our server yet, i think this game is long overdue to adress the neutral issue, since it has been a hot topic even before i started playing.

Where are all these ganks you speak of? And how come in 2.5 years of playing, I can still count on the fingers of one hand how many times I've been targeted by one?
Methinks this species is only common in forum mythology and quite rare on Atys...
Glad you had fun anyway, that's the main point. If its not fun for you, give it a miss is my advice

Finally, somebody else who is missing these so-called gankers!

True. Since last August (All the time I've been playing) I have been gankered one time, only one (By SunCe, obviously).
Ganking is tolerated by rules. I don't like it, and I can (In a RPish way) denunciate it, and be critic, but if the rules allow it, then I'll not yell about. Because the role of my PC I'll never team or hunt with any know ganker, but because that role I'll rez him, if there is need and isn't a PvP Zone. Nothing personal, but is the way I wanna coduct my PC. That doesn't mean that I'll yell at the player; I'll do it only in a RP way to the PC.
But PvP and Ganking are two different things. Most of people that make PvP are honourable. There are some gankers.
If your argument vs. PvP is the ganking, then is a pointless argument.
If what bothers you is that in the same server you are playing, there are other people doing PvP, then maybe there is a need to learn to tolerate other people's preferences that doesn't bother you.
Hey, sincerely, this is the game with the less intrusive PvP I've ever seen!

Oh and by the way, it would be nice if some people could learn how to see the whole picture instead of looking onto the mirror believing to see the world.
