Re: What magically perfect game...?

I will admit, main thing that drew me to this game was the graphics, but the thing that kept me was the crafting system.
I started playing Mogs back in The Realm game (pacman for online roleplaying games, and the first I ever saw, before AO or UO even, and a year or more before EQ), then moved to EQ, then went into the Beta tour, settled in Horizons for a painful year, then moved into a few others.
The MAIN thing about other games that usually sent me looking for another was EASY. They either pushed unconcentual PVP, which ended up ruining the game, or made it a crafter ONLY game, or an Adventurer ONLY game, OR made gaining AT level gear nearly impossible, OR made it ONLY soloable, or ONLY groupable.
I honestly think that Ryzom has a chance at actually providing a wide range of possiblities to the average gamer (more than 5 hours per week but less than 30), and a wide range of possibilities to whom the game is just about the ONLY entertainment they have (45 to 80 hours a week in game at the keys).
I think Mage skill tree needs to have more options and the sp needs a SERIOUS overhaul. I can't see a pure mage surviving the same mobs as same level fighter. The SP expenditure is outlandish to put it mildly.
Yes the game has a few bugs. My daughter got sucked into one and plopped in the middle of Matis newb territory...as a Fyros. The Gm put her in Fyros lands....on the mainland. But she shrugged it off.
And I have gotten caught in the fighter trainers room, when that happens to me, the trainer depops, and the door won't even open. But I logged out and back in and found myself in middle of city, so...no harm done.
And yes, I have been guilty of "seeking the Perfect game", truth is most players don't give most games half a chance. But alot of gamers have gotten a bit cynical due to Sony's POOR treatment of its playerbase. (Nerf bat, "it is a feature" No dear, it is a BUG, Mage epic, Cleric epic, ANY epic, Pet nerf, Fighter nerf, nerf nerf and yep NERF. By the time the average player hit level 50, NO one was spared the nerf bat.) So most players that leave cut and run early, before any game can get their hopes up...only to dash them.
I can see both sides on this issue. But...once again, I am sticking with this one.
