No offence but that's just silly. D0 you really think the WHOLE of The Samsara were CSR?! The whole guild is leaving, many of them long term players.

I have seen when you stood at the gates yesterday telling Homins that you will not leave the lands you love so deeply. I saw how so many raised their voices and hands in happy agreement with you and I also wished that I would be able to join in such cheerful moment. Unfortuneatly I was not able to as my cough took the better of my lungs and body. Yet, still I wished I could have partake in such lovely moment, I smiled happily.

Ever since it happened I have had this cough. This and also it seems as some of my memories have faded. Some have found their way back, others still lie dormant for me to find again, I hope.
Ever since the day I woke up in Aubermouth each day has been a journey and great experience. Some have been good and others have been sad, this be the life of Atys and its inhabitants I believe.
Since then I have met so many wonderful Homins, some to be friends forever, even though perhaps one will not meet them often. Or at all. Still the friendship made will last until beyond the end of time.

Some I do not remember for the moment, and it scars my heart to feel that you know someone, yet cannot remember him or her. I will do my best to be able to regain what memories that I cannot find since it happened, for my friends. Perhaps some I will not see nor meet again, still, even if I cannot remember you now, I know that you all have a place in my heart as the greatest Homins I have had the pleasure to meet and get to know.

I want to regain my memories the best I can, be them glad or be them sad, I want to remember friends I have known and loved for so long. I want to meet new Homins to one day call them friends and I wish to walk on this planet together with friends. For friends is what holds it all together.

My apologies for making this note rather short and direct, but I am afraid that writing this with all the feelings it holds, has put it strain on my body and I must rest for now. I hope that the little Yubo is able to deliver this parchment to you safetly, Jelathnia my dear friend.

First, allow me to express my gratitude for the supporting and "bestluck" the posts I received after my leaving thread, in this and other boards, I am honored and thankful and you all have left a mark.

Although I will not elaborate on the reasons for my leaving -- not the right time, and subject for another post -- I would like to express some concern after having read a few threads suggesting this very same point, and having heard rumors that are simply, false.

I would like to point out that my decision to leave Atys, and the announcement of GF dropping Jolt as CSRs is a (may I say unfortunate) coincidence. Whether I am or not a volunteer CSR at the moment of my leave is not relevant and merely speculative, but I am allowed to state that, whatever the situation may have been in the past, I was not, at the time of my post, benefiting from a free account that is usually tied to volunteering CSRs. I just wanted --at least for what concerns me, and speaking for myself only-- to clarify that. Not that I take offense at that statement, some of you may reasonably think that the flood of departures and the GF-Jolt announcement are tied. It may be, it may not.

The idea that old players (or at least those that announced their departure recently) were playing as long as their subscription was at no cost is an unfair generalization, without precluding that I, personally, think that a free account is a fair compensation for a volunteering work, all things considered.

Would I have considered yesterday announcement about GF dropping Jolt as a motivating factor to quit, if I had not decided to do so, beforehand? I don't know, I would be sad as most, yet eager to see how all this evolves. Was Phelan <sp> chat straighforward , honest and clear? yes, I think so. Does the content of what was said affect my decision? in some sense, it confirms it, seeing that my expectations and priorities are different to those that were announced, that features that have been "on the pipe" are yet to be tested and deplyed, that 18-month+ work as the Ryzom ring will be left "half-baked" as the rites were....etc.

Will I be back? I don't know. I am leaving the doors open...

However if you want to leave, do it honorably, kindly and with good wishes to everyone... Don't go slamming doors and saying f*ck it all! That position is weak and dishonorable, showing no respect to the wonderful world we all love and the great community we STILL have here, no mater what they say in other "leaving" threads...

It was not my intention to imply that people were leaving because of a free account. It is more of a returning to something that a person has outgrown. It is my understanding that many become CSRs to take the game to a different level having fulfilled many of the goals their characters they represent.

I would think that losing the input of my fellow CSR community would be like losing a guild or even a faction.

People play for different reasons. I think the CSR's at Ryzom played because they wanted to contribute to the overall community. The CSR avatars allowed for an aspect that the in game character can not express.

People continue to resub for different reasons. I think the CSR's at Ryzom played because they wanted to contribute to the overall community. A good chunk of Atys was just lost to alot of deserving and decent people. There is nothing wrong with not wanting to go back to an outgrown or unfulfillable character.

It is not quitting when it is moving on. CSR's already went the extra step. When their characters were not enough to keep them enthralled with Atys they moved up to help us all. I would think it would be near impossible to go back.

I've been here for all of one week But lookee I got a subscription, I do feel things are looking up for Ryzom, although I agree time will tell in the end.

I played the Open Beta of Vanguard, I can safely say they have nothing on Ryzom.. I can see people getting bored pretty fast with Vanguard, the again I've been wrong before
