I was in an Exodus data center a few years back... apparently they had had issues several times with people mistaking the big red emergency power off switches for light switches and shutting off sections of servers. So it does happen.

I don't have much more to add. People who have nothing to do when the Ryzom servers have a little downtime, just bang your head against a wall, it might help. :) Or play WoW... ah... wait... downtime there every day... adds up to about 365 - 400 hours downtime per year compared to 24 - 30 hours downtime of Ryzom in 2006... now get a life or GET OUT!

Right now... our "known to be friendly" comunity is as harsh as it never was... with a timing as bad as possible... do you really want gameforge to regret that they took over Ryzom?

To those of you who complain about the smooth change from Nevrax to gameforge with no big drama to it and no 10-pages-news... read the interviews with gameforge again, read the posting of Phelan again... just open your eyes!

Nevrax Dev-Team remains to develop the game, gameforge will concentrate on what they have proven to be their strength while the people formerly known as nevrax can continue working on their and our baby: The Saga of Ryzom.

Be happy about that, its kind of revolutionary compared to other take-overs that happend in the past.

To those who agree with me: don't let the trolls and flamers win, fight them!

I agree totally, only the fact that i had to translate all the information that was in German myself kinda disapointed me.

Well... people who have nothing to do when servers are down might download a new game and try it.

And you can't really compare WoW's scheduled downtime with unscheduled downtime on a holiday when many people were looking forward to playing.
