Allthough, admittedly, these Videos are kinda hidden treasures ;)
Ok, My fault. I never think in a video, more in a transcription. So I didn't find it.

Thanks for the link!

Those perticular spoilers seem pretty tame, I don't really see how it hurts either faction.

Until its officially implemented, leaks are nothing more than rumors. Things have been retconned in other universes. What makes you think they can't be here?

A dev could give an interview and say all Homins descended from Goats, that doesn't mean that is what is going to be introduced into the game's saga officially.

Vguerin, the Opener is in my humble oppinion referring to a certain Interview Madame Mulligan gave a while ago on german television where she "let slip" a few choice tidbits of the Games lore and the World Atys origins.
....

So I agree with the Opener, that such things belong into tells and not widely braodcasted into an open channel.

Yes...I believe that we're on the same page with this. I was being careful not to continue to propagate the spoiler(s) to others. I was aware of this interview and subsequent writeups and carefully avoided them because of the rumoured content. I then had it rammed down my throat in universe as someone gave me a lecture on my alignment as I was answering a new player's question. I then saw it happen two more times over the next 7-10 days before I posted the opener in here and muted universe. There was considerably more to it than what was posted here, though.

I am now in a position where I know that my own allegiances and assumptions are unsupportable. It makes it very difficult to enjoy yourself when you know the final score 20 minutes into the game. I did not mean to imply that I was laying down edicts. I was simply making a request to try to avoid others from being uncerimoniously placed in a similar position.

--------

As for my post, I apologize if I offended anyone's sensitivities. I'm usually careful not to use terminology that could be considered offensive (ideas are another story...but I am usually careful about my language), but I apparently let one slip by without even realizing that it might be an issue. I have since edited the post.

And this is what I honestly do not understand.
IF someone built "his Version of the truth" upon from what Ms. Mulligan said in this interview, then it just plain and pure exaggeration. He was making a very educated guess, he was making things up for HIS side to look better.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Rest assured that anything, anyone claims to know about the lore that all others do not know, even not us "oldies", is mostly exagearation and simple lies.

Nevrax had a very strikt non disclosure policy and these few tidbits Muiilgan let slip, are not something to spoil anyones Game. *shakes head*
Please wake up, you´ve been fooled.
Thats all.

What did he say then?
PM me if you don´t want to write here.
There were some threads where everyone got into guessing and swapping possibilities, every now and then. If the Spoiler came from there, then I´ll laugh in the face of him who claims it to be "truth". :p

Honestly, this is not a possibility that I had considered. The spoilers were initially presented as fact based on an interview with Ms Mulligan on French television (not German. Though there may have been a similar interview or this may have been a translation). I confirmed enough of it to determine that there was something to what had been said, but didn't pursue it any further. A big part of the fun for me was (is) the mystery and speculation. I was afraid of finding out even more that I shouldn't/didn't want to know. The credibility seemed better as I saw others passing on similar information. But, in retrospect, they may have gotten it from the same source in-game

I'll try to IM you to discuss it further. I don't want to continue to feed the fire and I certainly don't want to post the very spoilers that started me down this path.

Mark this down pimp master... I agree with you entirely !

Jessica Mulligan's writing's/meandering's often made me say "huh ?". Because someone says it (in any channel/chat/website) don't make it fact/lore (necessasarily). Even our awesome CSR's have made my head spin at times (Meet the guild's type things during REAL events, though not wrong certainly off time).

I always follow the "Believe 1/2 what you see, and nothing you hear" mentality with games. Everyone has an agenda (why your posts normally drive me insane) that must be filtered somehow.

It's a game, nobody likes LOSING a game and others just want attention... Filter those out and you get a decent feel for the "Saga" we now call Ryzom.
