Holy smoke.
How about we all just jump down the poor guys throat.
He saw a problem, and made a suggestion.
And half the replies talk about our great community, so fair minded, kind ect... yet if I were the OP, i would feel very belittled and put down about now.
Common people, don't you have better things to do than get upset at somone because they dont like one aspect of the game?
And for all of you who say its not a problem... please go edit your posts on this thread.

Re: Looting
I think what people are trying to say, and correct if I'm wrong people, is that we like the system the way it is because it allows player freedom. If someone does ninja-loot, or they are greedy, then we know they are doing it and that might tell us something about that person and probably their maturity. It helps us to weed out the people that aren't helping toward our wonderful community of friendly, sensible players. Having the system the way it is engenders (sp?) trust and friendship, as people have the choice to be greedy but choose not to. Naturally there are exceptions to this, as the Tryker Guardian thread in the Bazaar proves, and look at the reaction that got?
In part, I agree that having an optional auto-loot system may be helpful in certain cases, but it's not really in keeping with the 'style' of the game. I do, however, like the idea of having loot announcements in team. Perhaps in system info, rather than up on your view, however. Would be simple to code too, as you already get that message yourself when you loot.
Yours,

Speaking for myself, I wasn't jumping the OP's throat. However I did have a problem with Rivoth's post: "If you call bankruptcy court surviving. In any case one could use the two year argument against any change proposal at all. So you seem to be saying don't bother asking for anything."
This isn't true because there is alot things the community (both older and newer players) wants the devs to implement. In fact most of the posts state why people don't feel like there's a need for an auto-loot system in a friendly way. I believe most of the posters feel that the devs have better things to do than to implement something where there isn't much of a problem with (aka the looting).
As for THAT post...that's completely different. That was a poor implementation to award titles. Even if there was an auto-loot system, the person who originally ninja-looted would have still obtained a portion of that loot and probably would have done the same thing.
In fact implementing Cloudy97's idea would have helped in that situation:
"However the Tryker title was ninja'd because it was easy to hide when there was 50 players in the area. And maybe an option for looting announcement would prevent that: "NinjalooterX rips 5 basic Yubo eyes from the corpse" or something."

Thank you very much for agreeing with my point that a auto loot system will make the game more team friendly.dollly wrote:just solo if your that worried about it... otherwise there are many other things for the devs to work on besides teaching adults how to share
