I hope they raise the level cap. I am a new player and from my signup date you can see i have been playing less then 2 weeks. I hit level 19 in melee in a matter of an hour or two tops and it took me less then 2 weeks to hit level 50 in one area and 30+ is others. I guess I am concerned that people who use this free trail will have a very bad experience if its got this kind of level cap. YOu can't see most of the island with level 19 or experience most of the crafting and prospecting at that level.
I am wondering why they didn't make it a 14 day trial subscription and leave the rest the way it is. Anyhow I did subscribe but when i see drastic changes to free accounts or trial stuff and I have been playing for less then a month I worry about the response of the community.
I have now basically flushed two fulll year subscriptions in a row because of a massive change to free or trial accounts and am now here seeing this happen a third time. In each case after I paid my subscription after the trial period was up the company made a huge change and everyone got angry and left. So this time I have purchased a one month subscription and will wait and see. I simply am not willing to waste money like that.
Anyhow I doubt I would have subscribed if i had been limited to 19 levels because I would have used that up in an hour or two tops and wondered why they bothered with a "free trial" in the first place

There should definitely be more of an incentive to subscribe and move to the mainland. The trial should be just that, a trial, not simply a way to play a game for free while taking system resources, support, and other such budgeted funds away from paying customers.
While 19 might be a little low, there should definitely come a point at which one must subscribe to continue playing the game. I think that a level cap would be great, but it might be more beneficial... at the very least... to put the cap at 21. That way, the player sees the skills branch, and perhaps feel the desire to attain the new skill lines, thus subscribes. Perhaps the cap needs to be higher than 19/21, but it wouldn't have mattered to me. I fell in love with the game 15 minutes after logging in for the first time.
I think, personally, that the trial should not have a time limit to it. I like the idea that someone can take their time exploring the various features and functions with the game. By the time most players make it to mainland, they already know how to play. That's great! But, again, it is important to have some sort of limitation to the trial to drive subscriptions.

I agree that there should be a time limit. A month would be a good time frame. That way you can take your time and explore the island and do the missions. In this time you could also learn how the game works as well. Also after the time limit expires they could delete the inactive accounts to free up space.

I think a level limit would be better than a time limit.
19, or even 21 may be a bit too low though.
The problem, as I see it, is all the people trying to hit lvl 50 on Silan. It's just not meant for that and I think actually detrimental to your experience.
I agree 30 seems reasonable.

I can still remember leaving the Isle. But what what I could the majority of people were ready to leave Silan by 30. Granted this took me almost a month as I was a very casual player. So I agree perhaps it is better to have a level limitation, so that way if you are a casual player you can still experience everything that you wish before leaving.
Course as stated before..that would just be my 2 dappers as well.

I do agree with you 100%. If Nevrax decides to keep the level cap low for unsubscribed trial accounts, I do think it should be 21 so the branch is seen, but 30 would be the better choice IMO. I want to say I was around level 30-35 when I came over to mainland. I didn't have too much difficulty getting my character leveled up.

Very good work staff on the decision I have to say for once I'm ipressed.
Oh and the cap make it level 20 for unlimited then offer then the option to be able to go to 50 but on a 14 day time limit. Some kind of compromise like that would work for me.

I am glad that you are not doing Interserver trade with Cho yet. I am strongly against it now or anytime in the next 6-9 months. As of now there are only a few truely new subs on Cho (mainland). A good amount of the new pop is still on Silan. This server still needs time to evolve and has yet to really see the fruits of Nevrax's advert labor. Once Cho has started to become littered with 250 titles of multiple skills then it may be time to loosen the quarantine.
I don't want to see people dig mats on Aris toons and passed then over to Cho. Even if they are QL 10. It's not fair to the newer players. And we even know how this is gonna play out too. Willing to bet my useless Aris dappers that everyone starts camping the QL 200 exc forest amber mission spot. Using their 200-250 dig skills people will move this exc amber ql 20 over to cho either to craft off and sell directly as dappers. You want the lvl cap raised on transferrable mats? You are just going to make the situation dire that much faster.
Cho is working as intended with regards to dappers being a real currency. The other shards are the broken ones. Soon enough with lack of action and oversight Cho will beocome yet another messed up econ like the rest of em. Don't believe me? How frequent you see an auction for dappers?
