remove the drills. but let anyone dig cats around the outposts. if you normally dig 16 mats per souce this would be the same as digigng say 160 crystals. for every crystal that is dug by a player the guild owning the OP receives 1 aswell.
so the more ppl that dig at the OP the more the guild owning it gets. limit it to a certain number of cats per day etc
pvpers are happy cos they can still fightover the OP's if they want, pve'ers are happy cos they can just go dig the cats if they want. small guilds get the chance to have crystals. everyone is happy.
That thread there ladies and gentlemen is the point i made about people not understanding.xolghost wrote:What a nice, tolerant and completely unbiased post you brought us here.Maybe what you called moaning does come from understanding enough? Understanding that by the current mechanics PvP'ing does not have consequences for those who take part, nothing to lose? Understanding that those who take part can only gain? Understanding that those who don't take part can only lose? Understanding that there is no place for any peaceful role by the current mechanics?
Those who criticize these current mechanics usually only ask to why that part is restrictive in the way it is, why it is unbalanced the way it is. That doen't state that the critics wouldn't enjoy participating, in fact most do. The ones who favor these mechanics usually jump on that and repeat what has been critized by bringing the ever-old and really tiresome argument of "eat or die", "take it or leave it".
Why don't they just for once begin to see that nobody wants to take their lollypop away, that everybody's only trying to make it taste better -for all?
Instead you wish to end the "stupidity and arguments" by shutting the rest up... You're talking about free choice, but by this try to deny it to those who don't agree with you. Is it only me who imagines a crying child yelling "Mine! Mine! Mine!"? (A counterpart who keeps on yelling "You can't have it!" is no way better, btw...)
Why does everybody always "know" what's the best for all?
Why does everybody always insist that their way to play is THE way to play?
I'm growing real tired of it.
Reducing it to 'The rules say I'm allowed' is too simplistic and ignores, perhaps, the greater part of these games which is community and the things that go along with it. The community certainly has the capability to make up for problems or unintended side effects of mechanics, but it only takes a few not to to scupper the whole effort.danlufan wrote:- The FACTS i stated about the game are the way the games RULES are, weather you choose to believe it or not. Nobody knows whats best for all, hence the reason i stated about FREE WILL making the game pan out the way it does.
i would place diggin in the pve side of things. true not many ppl like digging but it would mean small digging/crafting guilds could get crystals easier. and it wouldn't take too long to dig a stack of crystals at 1 mat to 100 catsgrimjim wrote:Except people that don't like digging
I like this solution actually and with no active OPs in the PR it encourages people to build up their specific land-type digging skills too.
And it would open up trading, plus the popular and helpful guilds would get people preferring to dig near their outposts putting emphasis back on some diplomacy and community things as well.kayak wrote:i would place diggin in the pve side of things. true not many ppl like digging but it would mean small digging/crafting guilds could get crystals easier. and it wouldn't take too long to dig a stack of crystals at 1 mat to 100 cats
(btw J got 90% of your mats ready)
Mixing it together is the best way IMO because that keeps the HUMAN FREE WILL of choose.aardnebb wrote:Solution: More kinds of OPs
GvG Ops
FvF Ops
Non PvP Ops (multiple kinds thereof)
Limit each guild to 1 OP so more people can share the content.
Because as is, the OP system is NOT fun for a lot of people. We want other ways to get OP mats and crystals.
Is that a resonable response?
It's the best, most reasonable post I've seen regarding OPs in a while.aardnebb wrote:Solution: More kinds of OPs

Now THIS might be a new idea, certainly not seen it before. I like this idea.kayak wrote:remove the drills. but let anyone dig cats around the outposts. if you normally dig 16 mats per souce this would be the same as digigng say 160 crystals. for every crystal that is dug by a player the guild owning the OP receives 1 aswell.
